    Simplification of recipes not cool.

    Part of the thing that appealed to me about synthesis recipes was their complexity! I like the fact that in order to make chainmail, you must first make the wire from ingots, which then must be bent into rings, to then make a metal chain which you'd then perhaps use to make a chainmail vest with to use in making a haubergeon. This simplification of the recipes reads "Dumbing down for stupid people". I don't want my recipes simplified, I want them to stay as they are!

    after reading most of the similar threads and comments i am amazed how pissed off people are about the changes. there are an insane amount of mats and types of mats required to craft. cutting down on that is only a good thing.

    maybe i am the insane one that thinks spending 30 min gathering/making mats to make more mats to make more mats to make a finished product is absolutely ridiculous. it isn't complex; it is the definition of tedious.

    I'm with Cursive on this one. I personally don't mind the gathering aspect as I get to level my other jobs but the tedium is off the charts. Not easy, not what we want. Fun and simplistic and understandable IS what we want. I don't want my Con or other class to sit and wait for me to make a low level vest because I don't have rank 38 Bsm to make the stupid buttons.

    If you wish to keep the sub classes for the realism then FFS, make those classes the same level or just few above or even below for once what is currently being used. Maybe THAT can be set as a post for the devs crafters? Then I would love crafting but for right now, I'm on the change train eventhough I currently DO craft as is.

    Absolutely. I abandoned crafting a while ago and for someone like me with very little interest in dungeon runs and end game, really what else is there to aspire for? Loving the changes, it's still requires a certain amount of mats but it's not overly convoluted. It looks to me like the new system will be closer to XI and for once I welcome that.

    I agree whole-heartily. Its too time consuming for me and it turns me off. But that is just me, I do feel bad for player that actually like the realistic aspect to crafting in this game, but it our defense, I think its much better overall since I can easily craft my friend gear anytime without worrying about another class requirement or so many tedious steps.

    I think this decision by the dev team was very, very smart. But that's just my take on things, not meaning to insult people who favor the current craft system. I do feel kinda bummed that they are losing something.

    They don't necessarily mean all recipes. I wouldn't be surprised if 90% of the changes were to CUL recipes.

    Yes I rather enjoy needing specifically died sleeves and checkered pants to make something, instead of you know...base items with the abillity to dye afterwards or something.

    Many recipes are needlessly complicated. Turning nuggets, to ingots, to rings is fine and dandy, thats just a process. But needing "Grey" Chainmail sleeves and "Blue" rivits is anoying as hell.

    No one wants things dumbed down but FFS, REALLY!? Just like the overkill on the crafting menu. I wanna make something not spend hours confirming "YES! I WANNA F**KING MAKE THAT!!!!" *pounds on enter button*
    So they fixed it. It's a nice streamlined event and even MORE fun to craft with.

    I welcome the change because I am not a masochist who enjoys taking 30 minutes to an hour to prepare the materials to make the single final product. Have you ever tried restocking your entire retainer from empty? If you're making complicated recipes the process takes several hours. Some components could be simplified and/or removed.

    While they are at it, add instant recipes, redo 30-40 LW/Alchemist, and lower shard requirements on 45-50 on all crafts.

    Also, the entire crafting "mini-game" is not fun.

    Finally, one could argue nothing in the game is hard to make, you just need excessive amounts of time. Crafting's largest problem is the insane amount of time involved. If they want to make things unique -- just make the materials for more unique crafts (IE: HNM Crafts) harder to obtain, but spread them out over the entire course of the game -- not just lvl 50.
