I would like to add my own two cents to this: I don't experience this situation you've described when playing with FC members (though usually the amount I bring with me doesn't exceed 50% of the group, if even that).

When I DO bring along FC Mates, I am expected to perform like any other member of the group, reaping the consequences of my inability to perform to expectations - with death being the most obvious one (I do not expect raises if this happens, and prefer the healers to rez me only when they have both the time and MP to spare).

'Course, because I tend to die so damn much, FC mates usually tend to go with me so that my own lack of confidence doesn't hurt my ability to perform or treat the rest of the group like decent human beings (if I get depressed/stressed enough, I WILL snap at you if you aim a rebuke or scolding at me, regardless of whether I mean what I say in said outburst).

But yeah, I don't go telling my FC/LS mates to give preference to me over the others - besides, my pride would never allow it. I'd rather take a death from my own incompetence than be the cause of a wipe due to bias.
