But I am looking for more information to complete the Applet I am working on. I was able to find the formula, posted by twinkles, for initial quality based on the item rank and NQ, HQ, HQ2, HQ3 rating of the materials involved. Sadly, he did not post where he got that information from.

I am currently looking for the formula to calculate the initial durability. I believe its based on the same factors as the initial quality formula, but it is a different formula.
