Can't change user ID on PS4

Well, I'm not sure why this happened. I first downloaded and tried out FF XIV on PS4 and really liked it. So, I installed the PC version and created a new user ID (can't remember if it made me or not). I now have purchased both the PC and PS4 versions but in the PS4 version, I can't change the user ID to match the account I use on my PC. The game won't even let me edit the field. How do I change the login ID on PS4? I tried deleting and redownloading the game but for some reason it is retain the incorrect user ID.

I wish I knew, but I think that the username is bound to the console, so that it can only be the one, by design.

The good news for your situation is the username you created on the ps4 can also be used on PC, so there's that.

You can't change your ID on the Playstation, you never could.

You would need to make another account. It was set up from the start like that, it bound a player Id to psn

He means create another 'Playstation profile'. You can logoff one profile and create/switch to another, in the far left menu setting on the Playstation's main menu.

A secondary profile would start with no trophies, but its going to be a way to switch freely between 2 accounts on the console.

You also need to add a Playstation licence on Mogstation.... if i got that right you have 2 Square enix accounts created?

Correct. I first tried the game on the free trial on PS4 and created an account. I then downloaded the PC version and created a new account instead of using my existing one I created for PS4. Now I have 2 accounts and I cannot edit the field on PS4 to use the account I want. In fact, I deleted the extra account but it is still displayin in the login field. I spent all night trying to change it and using a new PS profile. Nothing worked. I want to play on PS4 using my character I'm playing on PC as I've read that the PS4 version is the ultimate way to play the game. From my Googling it seems like the only thing that can be done is contact SE and have them unlink the userid from my PS account. I read that people have to wait weeks for this. For such a great game, it seems like such a dumb esign decision to not be able to change the user ID.
