UI Skins!!

I love how the UI is shaping up so far but...

Any chance we'll be getting the ability to choose from a list of different UI themes like in previous SE games in the past (i.e. FFXI, Secret of Mana, Chronotrigger, and FF6)? It'd be nice to see a few other options besides the "sand/gold" skin.

I would personally like something more gunmetal hightech looking

I'd love to see this too! I liked alot the FFXI skins and the 4-focus gradient we had in FFVII. And they could even reward different skins from events and stuff or even add a template for player-made skins, just like programs like instant messegers do, offering a file with the number, dimensions and names of the images needed and a folder where the player need to place the skin for it to become selectable ingame.

Where players themselves could re-design the shape & overall visual layout of the UI's components.

Doubt this will ever happen but... i really hope, because i really REALLY like to paint / Design stuff like this.

Love the second one a lot. I really hope they let us use custom UI addons soon. It will make the game just function for some people who wants something different.

UI scaling is really important too. I feel the UI is way to large. I want to scale it down to a size I a comfortable with so much, every game supports it, WoW, Lord of the Rings, Aion etc.

Wow, you're talented! With a little SE polish this concept would be the business. I hate how my radar map attempts to "blend" around the edge of the circle. Would much rather have it locked into the theme of the UI like your examples. I love the concept of the upper and lower bars too... takes full advantage of the space given and would still allow us to avoid the UI blocking our view. Great job Laughlyn. Take note, SE and implement something like this with various FF-themed skins/themes!!

I don't know if anyone of you read one of the old dev post back when this forums was starting off. But one of the dev post that they going to allow addon but only to UI change "Addon". PS3 sadly wont have this at least from the day they said this that could change tho.

So there you go it up to the Fans to make our UI like ffxi or anything else.

Aye, i also remember this , long time ago it seems now.
Still, all we can do is wait & see how it turns out to be. ヘ(^_^ヘ)
