BLM crafted 110 set. advice pls

so basically I am not a min - maxer and never will be but I was wondering about the crafted 110 set especially since chances are we will see the accessories in next update.

I currently have all the poetics gear 120 since my static is just learning t9 and I use the Lilith rod and have diamond Rod and true ice bracelet.

So what I was wondering is it really worth me crafting a set of 110 gear to meld or at least the supposed BIS pieces to replace some of the poetics gear I have.??

I guess the main reason I'm asking is due to the possibility we will see the carbonwire in the new ct raid or even obtainable via hunt seals.

If so which and how to meld and why you think I should would be appreciated.

    This is my idea :

    http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/P5PO

You can switch between Sachertorte and Flint Caviar to reach accuracy cap for T12 and T13

Note : This way you won't spend too much money melding 4th and 5th slots with tier IV materia. Assuming you have some high allagan parts and shiva bracelet CMIIW

If you're not a min-maxer, it's probably best for you to stick to Tome gear. They'll give you enough DPS and the crafted pieces will consume a lot of time, money, and effort in comparison to what you gain. For blood, sweat, and tears, you can get your self some pieces that are better than even their i130 equivalents, but they're never that much better. So, it's up to you to decide whether the effort is worth it.

As for Carbontwine, I expect that it will follow the previous tier's route and not appear in WoD until 2.55 or 2.58... and I don't know if SE wants to thrust hunts into "literally everyone is doing them" territory again by putting Carbon materials in there.

Getting high allagan wont be an issue at least upto t9 but since im wearing all ironworks and can sub in evenstar for anything I was missing high allagan might not be worth the effort in farming but I will quite happily take it if it showed up in a run my static does.

not really an issue to make the stuff since I can craft it myself, but would have to farm some mats I guess due o there retarded high price on mb. materia on the other hand especially trying to meld full grade 4's wouldn't be cheap or quick to farm, I have a lot of gil but wouldnt want to blow 20-30mil on melding slot 5 melds given there low percentage for a few extra points. although I see the benefit in doing it due to that's the point of these sets to maximise there potential.

I agree that SE shouldn't re-add the mats to the hunt due to it being a big mistake adding sands and oils in the first place, but adding them into the new raid on a weekly lockout wouldn't hurt, although I do think they would be passing them around a bit too quickly so agree it will probs be patch before expansion when they add them if they do at all.

The augmenting items will use a separate system than the other items in the WoD - that is confirmed. I for one would not be against seeing Carbontwine/coat in the hunts, but they should adjust it. They seem to love lock-outs so damned much - put a lockout on the items needed to obtain the augmenting items

If you are serious about raiding, get the headpiece/belt and pants at least.

But you don't need them right now for the content you are doing, you are way overgeared even with echo.

I think for the most part melded/crafted is better than i120 poetics, but I don't think it's worth you upgrading based on what you've said.

The poetics does give more Vit and resistances, so this may help you more in FCoB than the dps gain (though the dps checks are fairly high).

P.S. If you have Harold's luck with melding, go for the crafted! xD

I'd prefer to just see carbontwines/coats on a weekly quest unrelated to the RNG of CT drops or the mind abuse that is hunts. Perhaps clear all 3 CT raids for Carboncoat (the easy one) and a more difficult one for Carbontwine (Ex primals maybe).

Materia isn't that bad to round up. Depending on your desynths, you might have stacks of rose gold ingots and hard hippo leather to make 70 accessories. Those spiritbond quick in low-mid 50's dungeons, and are around a 50% shot at TIV materia.

The 6 left side 90 pieces cost around 250k for me to make (current material prices, I have stockpiles) and are around 75% chance at TIV materia. They bond fastest on the 6 most recent dungeons, and turn 4 of coil.

I actually used most those to craft 2* items since they are selling well and way quicker than 3* 4* but I do still have some and as you can imagine really cheap on mb nowadays.

so I may actually give melding a go, although I usually find it kinda boring but if I do dungeons ill earn sol aswell I guess.

I think I'll craft a set regardless and have them there if I need to meld and use I can.

what is considered the best meld setup for these pieces.? pie build for extra fire 1 or just go with more damage and speed.?? with acc if needed.?
