You are opposed to an optional feature that could improve a players gameplay experience. An option you could choose not to use. Okay.

In my experience ignoring such people would only improve a run. The ones who have been rude have never once contributed positive discussion that leads to the success of a group.

Additionally, organizing a kick during a 24 player run when the pulls come very quickly is challenging at best and impossible at worst since kicks cannot be initiated during combat or loot rolls.

No I'm not opposed to adding features to the game that might possibly improve a players experience, since you put it that way. As a matter of fact, I stated a reason as to why I would be opposed to adding a feature like this.

Imo it seems unnecessary and potentially regressive. I've ignored the chat box plenty of times. In turn, I've paid attention to the chat box plenty of times and vote kicked, motioned for duty abandon, and used the information to report. Those are exactly the things I do when a player, by your description, is so disruptive a form of intervention needs to take place.

I also don't believe in creating tools that can be used to further environments of isolation in this game. I mean, it's an mmo. You are intentionally put into groups designed to accomplish a goal with communication if necessary. If someone is standing in my way of accomplishing this goal (especially due to harassment) I will remove them or form a new team to accomplish that goal. It seems like a step backwards for an mmo imo.

And yes there are plenty of players with cliques that would ignore some newbie and make them feel like an idiot because they didn't watch a vid or whatever.

You seem like you propose this with a good intention of punishing potential troublemakers. For that you have my indirect support. All I'm saying is do us all a favor and don't give these kinds of players the satisfaction.

What you're suggesting almost enables that type of behavior. Why would they change their ways if they knew most players don't report anyone they just ignore you? I hate these types of players just as much as you, but a feature like this could easily foster a regressive mentality in removing these players from our game.

I know it sucks but trouble makers are par for the course in an mmo, you should really kind of expect that to be honest. I hope people in the community takes reporting these players seriously, are willing to sacrifice their progress, and develop an environment that differentiates itself from other games like it. I don't want to just ignore these players and "go with it". Eff em. Remove them from Eorzea I say. Heck, almost all the players we're talking about think Eorzea sucks anyway even though they spend hours playing. Let's help them find their way out. It's that way ---------->
