I'll just add my experience.

I think I started playing FFXIV last March/April. Decided I liked it and so signed up for a 6 month sub. Everything worked. I even purchased two more retainers since I'm such a pack rat. Then along comes October, It was at the same time as the Las Vegas Fan Fest. I get the notice that my sub was not renewed, despite it being on the same card that was used before. I did eventually find out about the 24hr lock out. That was after I had tried with three different banks. I could never get it to work.

Sadly because I enjoy FFXIV enough, I've been forced to go the time-card route. I've now purchased and used 2 60 day time cards. Even though it's the more expensive route, and I have to "consider if I'm still enjoying the game" every time I need buy another one.

I've really never experienced this type of situation in other games. We are literally saying "we would like to give you money" and the response is "No, Only if you stand on your head and use a hulu hoop and then maybe we might consider accepting your money".

I would also echo the "sell Crysta cards" suggestion. Good luck.

Last month I had to also purchase a game time card as i saw the paypal method was gone for good. And I am a legacy member so instead of paying my reduced fee the game time card is making me pay more. Honestly i'm quite upset at this situation.

Wow, I'm amazed to see some of the responses here. I actually just looked at the Payment Issue thread back on the technical forums (its stickied if you're interested). This 401 error issue has been going on since Sept2013 and has racked up a total of 122 pages in a single thread!! That's impressive to say the least. At any rate, this still needs a status update so once again *bump* SE please hear our plea and give us an update!

So I talked with SE technical Support today again and it seems my Prepaid CC does not work and will not work.
So they said after 24 hrs wait try a Visa Debit card and to use internet explorer without any add blockers.
And that should work for my issue.. But we will see... Also im so disappointed that a Prepaid CC won't work but I guess it's only certain kinds.
Seems like if the Prepaid Visa isn't a replenishable one it won't work.. I hope my visa debit works tomorrow cuz if not i will only be able to use game time cards which does not give me any in game items... Very sad..

That's really very unfortunate. I hope this nightmare will end soon for us. I had every intention of fantasia-ing to Au Ra in 3.0. Now I dont know if that will even be possible

I had zero issues with Payments when PayPal was an option. I've been locked out of my adding funds to my account twice now when trying to buy stuff from the Mogstation because it flags my account as a potential Fraud/Scam for some reason because I'm giving them money. Their payment verification system for Credit Cards is awful.

I'm still annoyed that the Ultimate Game Time Cards went away, that's how I got my Crysta.
Saved me the route of putting in CC information and would let me easily pay month to month if I felt like going two months consecutively. Now I'm going to have to continually buy 60 day time cards from Amazon because the time cards aren't sold anywhere near me.
What sucks the most, is that I didn't have steady extra cash before the UGC Cards went down, so I couldn't stock up on many for the next several months and convert them to Crysta before it all went down.

Reasons why putting dye on the cash shop for $1 was a mistake.

1. Some credit cards don't accept $1 charges
2. They probably knew this would happen to some people and it forces them to buy 5-10 dollars worth of crysta.
3. It's blatantly nickle and diming people.

Fixed, the rest are inactive accounts or accounts that didn't make it past their free 30 day trial. But yeah, they really should add a Paypal option back, if anything it would increase their actual subscribers or at least make a good chunk of those 2.5 million registered accounts actually be able to sub or renew.
