    They are able to offer a Germany only payment option (ELV, basically direct withdrawal), they should be able to offer a payment option that is common in the whole west.

    But that aside, they really should turn gametime cards into Crysta cards. It's the simplest way and doesn't need any third party involvement.

    Just wanted to say, to anyone elso who reads this thread, even if you don't use paypal and have had no payment issues with XIV, please show your support for your fellow players and this cause. More payment options means more players, more players means the fun times keep rolling in Eorzea!!

    Hopefully we'll get an update on this soon from the devs.

    Received the following cryptic and useless email from SE, in regards to my cash shop payment not processing:

    Dear Customer,

    Regarding your request for billing support. Please find your answer below.
    If you are receiving an error 601, 406, or error 401 when attempting to update your payment method, then there is an issue where the financial institution is declining the authorization attempt. Unfortunately as SQUARE ENIX is not the financial institution, we are not provided with any information as to why the authorization was declined, only that it was. Please confirm that all billing information is entered correctly on the SQUARE ENIX Account in question. Please also note that once an authorization has been rejected, that form of payment cannot be attempted again for a full twenty-four hours, and any further attempts before that time will automatically be rejected. If you would like further information about this specific authorization attempt, please contact your financial institution. If you wish to begin playing immediately, please choose a different payment option and payment method, available through the SQUARE ENIX Account Management System.


    I think its funny that they tell me this when this is the exact same card that was used two days earlier to pay for my sub.
    Also just another reason why getting a status update on "Paypal" is so important.

    Because unless it's something very specific they can answer or at least plug in, you're going to get a copypasta reply. I remember years back a gaming magazine wanted to screw around with Nintendo by sending them an email praising their friend code system (spoilers: no one liked it). The reply back was just a canned response that didn't even address what was written to them.

    Honestly Im really not surprised. This kind of "support" has been the norm since XI. The only reason I sent in a ticket is so that I can say I have made every attempt on my end to resolve the issue. I'm not the one dropping the ball here. The only other reason I posted that email from them is so I had a reason to bump this thread and keep it on the top of the general discussion forum in the hopes that a dev will read it and respond to our Queries for a status update. I will keep bumping this thread until I do get a response.

    I had the same problem. I used the chat support and was able to talk to a really helpful agent that lifted the ban I had(30 days).

    Mostly cause Global collect uses such a crappy fraud prevent system that if it fails once your locked for 24hours. Its why SE really needs to get rid of this crappy payment system and give us another choice, At the moment I am going the same crap just to buy crysta to pay for my account that will be off in 3 days. I tired 3 different cards and even on 2 different pcs and even my tablet and what I get that 401 error. Its funny how I paided for my husbands account earlyer this morning with a different card and it went threw but I cant pay for mine.
