    Spell Speed still affects pets

Patch 2.16 made it so the tooltips always displayed static times, but contrary to popular belief, the pets are still affected. It doesn't amount to much, though...

Side by side Wind Blade test. It's a little difficult to see at full speed, but the cast bar for the spell speed Wind Blade finishes several frames faster; the recast time is also shorter.

On spells with longer cooldowns you can actually see the effect on the tooltip's countdown.

Ifrit-egi is unaffected by spell speed because it only has skills, but skill speed does affect it.

Their video is private. But if this is true, then gear swapping might become a thing for SMN. Ifrit would need Acc, Str,and Det and skill speed from Mnk/Drg gear. I can't imagine the pitifull amount of skill speed we get from their gear would make much of a noticeable change.

I can see the video now. This is it. These are the drones we have been looking for! This is our buff! Nice find. Did they stealth buff us or was this always there?

If i have 2% ~ spell speed, do that mean my Garudas damage is increased 2% over ifrit? so if Garuda can do 130 dps normaly, after spell speed it is 132.6 dps? After all it does not make so huge difference between ifrit and garuda if you do not stack insane amount spell speed and who knows if ifrit get some kind of compensate from some other stat.

Does your pet have to have the spell speed buff on them or just the summoner?

Tried to count the # of attacks, Seems like the one with 598 SS got 1 more attack over the one with 3XX SS over a course of 2 minutes. Is that really viable for the amount of crappy spell speed you gain? Not only that but I think slower pet was consistently doing 30 more dmg or so. Which means every 10 attacks of the slower one = 11 attacks of the faster one or so. When the one slower one hits for like 40 attacks and the faster one hits for 41, the slower pet does more damage.

Ifrit's primary stat is Int; Str doesn't affect its damage.

No idea. SMN typically runs so little spell speed that it would only amount to an attack or two in a fight which isn't exactly going to be noticed.

Pet is unaffected by buffs on the SMN.

Whether or not it's useful is beyond the point of the demonstration (I agree that it's not); it's simply showing there is an effect. Furthermore, damage in the video should be ignored; the gearing was based around creating a big difference in spell speed to observe the effect. All other stats were ignored in achieving this.

Not saying anyone should consider it, but only Spur does this.

If I recall, STR does absolutely nothing for Titan/Ifrit. Their damage output is calculated from INT, along with DET and CRIT. Judging from the video, even if Spell Speed does affect Garuda it wouldn't matter because the difference is so minimal. You seem to lose damage from stacking Spell Speed over the more weighted stats. A nice find, but the end result is the same: Spell Speed sucks.

Spell Speed would be a direct DPS increase for Garuda. But you would have to look at a Spell Speed chart to see the difference since 2% more Spell Speed doesn't = 2% faster attacks.

Because Garuda has a 3s GCD, each point of Spell Speed would be a greater increase compared to a 2.5 GCD.
