Maps nerfed?

Hello

Thought I would go out and gather today for some maps on level 50 nodes. Been trying on botany and mining for quite awhile now and haven't gotten anything. So was wondering if its' just bad luck or if anybody else has noticed a decrease in getting them?

Okay, well, its going on two hours now and nothing. About ready to give up....

Took my fisher alt well over an hour earlier this week. Today? First cast.

If you're not getting a single map of any sorts, check from Timers if you're allowed to find a map yet. If everything's okay there, then it's just rng luck.

The one time this happened to me it was because of the timer, you can only gather one map per 18 rl hours. If you have botany leveled, with off-hand gathering just by Forgotten springs in Southern Thanalan it never takes me more than 10 minutes to get a map. The reason for picking that is it is close to a Aetheryte and has no high-level mobs that aggro.

It's just so much RNG. Yesterday first node peiste... other day... 30 minutes later... still not a single map...

Do you have maps in your inventory? I believe a map won't show if you're already carrying the same one that would have shown in your inventory.

Not sure how it works for Botany and Mining, but for Fishing, if you have a map in your inventory, you CAN still fish up other maps of that type - you just immediately discard them.

For botany and mining you will still see maps even if you have them in your inventory. I have had to run back after putting mine away.
