I'm afraid you get another bare-bones this week. I just arrived back a few hours ago and I'm utterly exhausted for reasons too disgusting to go into! Stomach bugs aren't fun

Too busy right now so I'm not gonna give my opinion on shots but here are my favorites (no speciul order)

Holding on to my resolution! One of these days I manage to post in discussion even! >.<
A note before I give my vote: I found it very hard to decide this week. While we see very different interpretations of “relaxation”, depending on the personality (I’m fairly introverted so I could never relax at a party, but I know people who do), I feel everyone definitely fits the theme. Also, while my top 2 were fairly easy to decide, I actually really had trouble deciding on number three. All of your shots had great aspects to it!

The Top 3:

Adeline Ursa: People will think me biased, I fear but again, this shot looks amazing. So well-coordinated in colour and composition. So much happening at once I imagine getting everything timed well must have been a pain, considering effects like the bubbles and the champagne are very short. Even though you’re on the side, being in the foreground definitely draws the eye, great expression, too. Slight issue I have is the blonde Elezen in the back. Everyone is fairly well dressed and colourwise well put together, but she is wearing the light blue bikini set? Not noticeable on the first glance but when studying the picture definitely something that is a bit off. Raunchy me thinks hired stripper… but that’s just my fantasy going wild.

Raya Relanah: Again, I hope I will not be counted biased but you have been delivering great shots throughout the entire cycle, so honestly, it’s no surprise to me that you came up with a great idea and implemented it well.
The colours in the room and on your friends are all nice blues, calming and matching your skintone and the lighting, while dimmed as should be at a slumber party, is still bright enough to show you off nicely. Greta expressions on you and your extras, as well. What bothers me slightly is the bikini top. I would have liked a light blue or white Hempen Camise more to match your pants. The other girls look so covered up, I almost wondered if you were playing strip poker or something… My mind is in the gutter today… geez.

Flare Anderfel: It was really hard to decide the third, but ultimately you made the cut, because I liked the vibrancy of your picture, your expression is great, and I like the setting, the lighting and the angle. I cannot quite decide if you’re in the water or just standing in the surf. The extras are very nicely put together, especially the Miqo’te lady being colour coordinated with you. What pushed this down for me was the guy to your right. He feels a bit too close and honestly, his crotch is at the same height as your face and the colour of his sash draws attention. :/ Yes I know I am dirty minded, I cannot help it! Anyways. I think it might have been better if he had been a touch more to the right, or if he and the lady switched places…


The Bottom 3:

Jinx Fireboot: Great idea, and your pose and the room & arrangement is nicely done to convey a relaxed feeling. My problem is this is the entire right side of the picture. The water stream from I assume the showerhead blurs the picture too much for my taste. That, plus the light at the little waterfall and the reflections on the water are a bit too much to look at the picture in peace. My eyes get really distracted by the weird effect these things have on the visuals. It’s hard to describe properly, but I hope you understand what I mean. :/

Adam Flyrmyn: I’ll be honest, I love the idea of this and I am dying to know where you shot this. It’s very simple but that is what makes it calming. And the colours are just great, especially the bits that have sun shining on them make for some great contrast. I would have picked this easily for third, if not for one thing: Who is that person in the background? Seriously, I was looking at this for a while and only then I noticed that woman through the foliage. And I was like “What is she sitting on, is that the war bear mount?” The problem here is that you got upstaged because the serenity of your picture gets disrupted by that blip in the background.

Eirwen Mackenzie: It’s a great idea, but I think you really got upstaged by the other in terms of colours. Very pastel, not the vibrancy almost all of the others have. Also very odd clothing choices. The table setup is nice, but the angle dwarfs you, especially compared to your extra. Also, your expression is a bit odd for relaxation. Looks like a concerned/shocked emotion you’re portraying. So odd, I locked back again at your previous pictures and your expressions have always been spot on.

Adeline Urusa - Your picture has a very vibrant atmosphere; everything from the bubbles, to the others in the background, and even the color of the room help accentuate that!

Adam Fylrmyn (I've been spelling your name wrong the whole time LOL) - Such a calming picture I really like the flowers behind you, and surprisingly I like that other person in the background, whether it was intentional or not XD Just makes you seem like you're in a secret garden! Edit: I know why I like that person in the back; it reminds me of a scene from Princess Mononoke *^*

Flare Anderfel - Waaaah, are those the other models I see?! Looks like you're having a great time at the beach!

It's likely I won't be able to vote for the next round since I don't plan on renewing my subscription for the time being, but I just want to say good luck to those still competing, and congratulations to those who were able to compete!

Since we’re down to 6, I’ll write out a critique for everyone… I really laughed and felt soothed by all of the shots this week, though some more than others.

My Top Three Selections:

Jinx Fireboot: “Serenity” is the perfect word for this one! The use of light, steam, and the balanced use of cool colors, offset by the hot pink flowers… I love every bit of this. I want to curl up in that bath and go to sleep.

Rhaya Relanah: I really want to know what kind of grand stories of battle you’re telling in your undies, madam! The use of lighting was good here, it puts the large group of peole around you in relative shadow while you glow like a beacon, pulling the focus toward you. I think I need to go investigate that bed everyone’s on.

Adeline Urusa: This shot is incredibly eye-catching to start with! The only major negative I can see here is that because there’s such an overwhelming amount of red, my eyes are immediately pulled to the “cool spot” in the center of the picture! While you’re in the foreground, the green-adorned Miqo’te pair in the middle tend to pull all of the focus away from you. No one should upstage you in your own shot!


My Glorious Other Models

Eirwen Mackenzie: I really adore this shot, it seems like you got some really good gossip during your tea party! But unfortunately, there’s so much empty space around you! I wish you could have zoomed in just a little bit more. I want to see more of you, since you’re meant to be the focus!

Flare Anderfel: I really love that you’re just partying so hard on the beach! That was definitely the first place I was thinking of when I saw that the theme this week was “relaxation”! And aw, Sakuraya and Marik decided to show their support for you! I think that looks like a grand party to be a part of! I like that you tried to fill the negative space at the top right with Marik’s fabulous emotes, but it still ended up feeling a bit lopsided.

Adam Flyrmyn: I really, really wanted to like this picture more! But due to your brilliant shade of red, you just ended up camouflaging yourself a bit too much. The person in the back on the Warbear was very distracting to me. As I continued to look at the picture, I was continually drawn to her, as though she was an incredibly badly hidden Waldo. While your face says “relaxed”, the rest of the shot just feels so… empty, despite being so full of lovely flowers.

Bizarre Sidenote:

Adeline and Rhaya are the last two catladies in this competition! And you guys had such similar compositions that it blindsided me. You both had 3 Miqo’te, 1 Roegadyn, and 1 Lalafell in your shot, with Adeline having an additional Elezen… Adeline went for dominantly hot colors, while Rhaya went for cool ones… You two are truly two sides of the same coin!

Both party like there’s no tomorrow when the name of the game is to relax! But I bet you get some of the best sleep ever afterward!

You guys won't have to worry about "critiques" from me, I know how nerve-wracking it can be when you also have to look forward to the judges critiques at the end of it all, trust me I know XD

Adeline Urusa: I really love this shot a lot! It's so carefree, fun, and shows you enjoying yourself with you friends just relaxing at yours or someone's house having a nice lil' party after so many weeks of working hard out in fields, dungeons, etc. to show off them shots!! I really enjoy it, it's very good angle and I love how you're off to the side, but still attention is drawn to you first and foremost! I love the pink correlation you have going on here!

Flare Anderfel: I love the whole "beach party" theme going on here! It's always a nice treat to unwind after a long period of "work" when a beach is involved!! Not only are you relaxing out in the surf, but you're enjoying yourself with your friends as well! I quite enjoy the homage to being a "L'Oréal" commercial pose! Hehehe... The sky, the beach, the waters, even the back ground works for you! And your extras really aren't upstaging you at all, I hone right in on you first. I really love the use of the beach in this shot and the natural lighting! Good Job!

Jinx Fireboot: I absolutely adore this shot! Jinx seems like the kind of guy, who just needs quiet time when relaxing, "Shhhh he's dreaming!" Isn't there a saying about not waking up sleeping Lalafells? No? Maybe there should be...ha! Anyways, I love the waterfall effect you also have going on right beside you on the right side, it in it's own way, sort of takes up the negative space that would be there, and gives that illusion you're inside a 5 star spa... ahh that would be nice huh? I can see after all your hard work through out this, why a nice quiet spa day would definitely be a nice way to relax!
