In the market wards there is weapons/armor that is sold by NPCs

Did not know this thank you, are they low level gear at a affordable price to a new player? Because thats what i was mainly referring to.

Hmm isn't that part of the game where you need to explore?

I did explore lol but instead of wasting my time exploring i could have went straight to a camp, this kind of goes hand in hand with the next quote

It may not have just been a low rank but may have been the way your allotment points were used or the spells and combos thereof. Also, do you have a second job started? This ALSO can help with you getting "handled" at certain times in PTs, Leves, or solo.

As for looking for NPCs with gear and such... they already have on your mini map and the full map little "sacks/money bags" indicating where NPCs are. No it doesn't tell you what they sell... that is for you to do and explore.

Not to come of like a jerk but, you have to do some of the work. This is not a linear type RPG or MMORPG it's not going to guide you through everything to get you from A-B. You can use different websites to gather more info if you have difficulty locating some of the things you are asking about. If the chat seems low, start up a conversation with the other players and YOU be the one who makes the difference.

Its been a while since i hit one up. But i remember the really low end stuff being pretty reasonable. there mid and "high end" items can be spendy if you are on a tight budget. But Really these npc's act as a convenience if a particular item is not being sold by any one, And they moonlight as a gill purge for the economy.

Most every thing else in your post has been pretty well covered by other posters. One thing that was not mentioned by others was about Global chat. A while back it came out that yoshida san wants to get something like this in the game. how ever they stated that there are some technical hurdles that must be jumped first before its put in.
