Concerning: Forum Feature Updates Along With The Transition To A Full Version (Aug.1)

Dear SE, dear Gildrein,
are the developers aware that the ZAM database is outdated and contains many faulty entries? Just take a look at the entries for [item=4040201]Iron Bhuj[/item], [item=4030301]Iron Falchion[/item], [item=3940105]Vulture Fly[/item] and many other weapons (which are all said to favor DoM or completely unrelated classes!).
And the R1 [item=5030101]Weathered Cane[/item] (CON starter weapon) is listed as an Arcanist's weapon usable by all classes...!?

Also, all the new rare/ex (ex.: Verdant line of items) equipment from the dungeons is completely missing.

I appreciate this new feature, but a certain quality standard should be maintained nonetheless...

Edit: The items in question got updated. Sometimes it helps to complain. ^^ Nonetheless I think it is a doubtful move by SE to outsource important game functionalities.

What a surprise, a ZAM feature that sucks.

I just hope SE isn't paying them to use it.

Edit: Also gotta love both the "ZAM" logo in the corner and "Source: ffxiv.zam.com" in the corner and a link to their database page for the item.

I wish SE would just build their own database from the game themselves; part of the reason people wanted these official forums was to not have to deal with third-party sites with their own agendas and moderation.

ffxivpro and yellowgremlin both have better databases than lolZAM....

I think out of all the databases that I know of eorzeapedia/YG/Pro/ZAM
ZAM has arguably the worst.

tbh they probably just used ZAM because it's the only one you can item link with that has the same appearance as the UI in-game. They took it out of cosmetic preference without doing research first. However, I bet ZAM is going to get their asses in gear now that their database is on here. It's embarassing for them too, not just for SE.

note to SE: this is why you release update notes in advance, because community generally will steer you in the right direction if something is obviously not right. It's better to have feedback in advance so you don't waste time trying to fix a mistake after the fact.

I wish they went with Yellow Gremlin, but if SE could create their own database, I rather have them do that. Also SE needs to center these damn forums!
