I have a feeling that the Interceptor Node that appears during Frontlines may be a part of Omega. It kinda reminds me of the part that sticks out from its back.

The original Omega (the robot spider thing) is hinted at being the same entity similar to Gilgamesh (or at least the same description)

Hmm, that would explain how there are only 4 aperences of the Biological Omega Weapon while the Mechanical Omega is one of THE most recurring superbosses in the FF series along side Seiryu and Gilgimaesh him self, the very name sake for the Paradox that involves the three "Rift Wandering" beings. The original Omega (the robot spider thing) is hinted at being the same entity similar to Gilgamesh (or at least the same description)

For the sake of argument here... I REALLY don't think the dev team wants to just throw a reskinned and harder Ultima at us. The Omega in this game is going to be the Robot one. They can just do Ultima Extreme if they want to do another fight with that model. Most like, Omega is the Unknown Trial for the upcoming patch, and it will be a pretty hard fight with Atomic Ray and other such moves.
As for the debate of "Is Omega the same across games?" No. It is not. 5 is the first appearance of Omega. The only times it could be the same are the retcons into the 1 and 4 worlds, as well as the Arena at the end of Time in 13-2. The 7 version of Omega is retconned into the world through Dirge of Cerberus as the planet's creation in a final effort to save the souls on the planet. Omega is generated from the life stream. In 8, Omega is an enhanced version of Ultima, and created through Ultimecia's magic, much like all else in her castle. In 10, Omega was a disgraced monk who was banished and Cursed Yevon, while Ultima was a shadow of his rage. In 11, it was a Bio-technological Weapon created by the Zilart, Notably to fight Wyrms. Similarly, in XII, you fight Omega Mk. XII, which is a sleeping robot in its twelfth iteration having slept in crystal of untold periods of time and consuming Mist such that it may one day face Yzamat. The Omega in 5 would be the predecessor to Mk. XII. In fact, if anything, the Mk. XII further suggests that the Omegas are all Separate, though they may have had similar origins, with some having been created in the same universe.

Pretty sure that Omega in XIII-2 was the same Omega as the one from V though. For the sake of argument here... Reread the second line of the second paragraph![]()

Wow, it had never even occurred to me that people could believe that Omega and Omega Weapon were distinct parts of FF cross-game lore. I've always looked at it this way:
- Ultima Weapon or Ultima appears in almost every game. Their design varies, but their name means they're all "related", in a way.
- Omega Weapon or Omega appears in almost every game, but generally only if that game has an Ultima or Ultima Weapon in it. It's usually the "ueber" version of Ultima. Their design varies, but they are usually a palatte swapped clone of Ultima. These, too, are all "related".
- Ultima / Ultima Weapon is usually a required battle. Omega / Omega Weapon is almost always an optional battle.
- There is no "traveling across universes" shenanigans. Omega and Ultima both just happen to be creations that commonly appear in FF games. Just like Tonberries usually appear, but have different backstories from game to game.
Irregardless of whether Omega is distinct from Omega Weapon, though, in THIS game, during the cutscenes when Omega is first discussed, they EXPLICITLY compare it to Ultima, remarking that it is far more powerful. This is a pretty strong hint that the two contraptions are related in this game; both are pieces of ancient Allagan technology, with Omega designed specificially to be able to combat Bahamut.
