    CURSED {Do you need Leechs} {Maelstrom}?

    IS maelstrom Cursed in PvP, Why is it that every time iv been in a Fight, we are leading and the other teams have soar past us even though we have the same flags and even more sometimes, yet we seem to get all 6 drones right near the end but it doesn't make a difference. Ergo i put Forth that Maelstrom is Cursed and the point system is unbiased.

    Your...English is kinda choppy and doesn't make sense, but I can assure you that the Maelstrom is not cursed. From what I've seen in my almost 400+ Frontline matches, is that you cannot solely rely on drones/node to get you the win. This much is obvious; capturing and holding flags offers way more points over time than just getting all six drones and the node at the end. But you need to have a balance between the two.

    From what I've seen as an Immortal Flame is that compared to the Order of the Twin Adders, the Maelstrom is ruthless when it comes to holding flags, whether it's beneifical for them or not. I've noticed that when I'm fighting the Adders for the markets, they have the good sense to leave if they know they're going to lose, so as to not waste time or feed us points through kills. They fight fiercely, but they're smart enough to withdraw when they know they're fighting a losing battle.

    Maelstrom? Hell no. When I'm fighting at the Sun Temple, it doesn't matter if we're winning, the Maelstrom is wholeheartedly and completely dead set on taking that flag. It's like you guys get tunnel vision; you become so obsessed with taking that flag that it becomes your one and sole objective, drones and nodes in the Heliodrome be damned. And while the determination and ambition is admirable, it doesn't help you in the least. You cannot focus on taking a single flag throughout the entire battle, because it's going to cost you. Find other strategies; go to the Serpent or Flame OP; rush Temple as a whole or fight for Manors more fiercely. Either way, changing up strategy helps.

    Just because the map shows one thing, and your chatlog shows "xx has taken down interceptor blah", doesn't mean your team isn't getting farmed for kills somewhere.

    Point rewards are the following:
    • Player kill - 3 points
    • Drone kill - 20 points (6 per spawn, with 3 to 4 spawns per match)
    • Node kill - 200 points (1 spawn per match)
    • Contest a Flag (make is so no one controls it) - 10 points
    • Capture a Flag - 10 points
    • Control 1 Flag - 1 point every 3 seconds
    • Control 2 Flags - 2 points every 3 seconds
    • Control 3 Flags - 4 points every 3 seconds
    • Control 4 Flags - 8 points every 3 seconds
    • Control 5 Flags - 16(?) points every 3 seconds
    • Control 6 Flags - 32(?) points every 3 seconds

    I've often seen Maelstorm go after kills rather than focusing on taking flags. I would be guarding the Flame OP as a paladin and then have two Maelstrom stand outside the circle and beat on me for 30 seconds when they could have stolen the flag from me by fighting me in the circle. Player kills take a long time and are not worth the points. If it takes 30 seconds to kill someone and they were holding a flag they got 10 points in the time it took you to get 3.

    Too many cooks spoil the broth. too many people trying to call the shots is the problem sometimes. sometimes either A or C will have no healers but instead of supporting either B or A/C they run to "their spot" and feed points untill they get frustrated, then they scramble and aply the "spread out and hit em single file" strat. Flames and Adders have figured out how important the drones are.

    we also used to have 2-3 preforms in the alliance almost every match. I don't think i've seen a preform more than once or twice in the last 50 matches.
