    Why not 3 man dungeons? or 7? or 5? People always suggest some arbitrary number for X man dungeons for "easing DPS queue times", but it's always gonna be the same result; unless you got more people lining up as a healer or tank, you could have 100 DPS sitting and twiddling their thumbs until that healer or tank finally signs up.

    I disagree. It's all about the ratio tanks/healers vs DPS. If you make 6 men dungoen, then the usual second tank would have to queue in another group of 4 DPS. It adds up fastly... let's say 20 tanks are available to raid, they all queue up for T9. That's 10 groups of 40 DPS... Now imagine only 1 tank is needed... so 10 tanks for the same 40 DPS... the other 10 tanks will have to queue up and reaches the other DPS waiting in line.. That's an extra 40 DPS.

    You just revealed the problem with your own solution. There are not enough Healers and Tanks to go around. Reducing the ammount of DPS per cue will solve nothing. We need more Tank Classes and Healer Classes to ballence out the fact that there are two tank classes and two healer classes when compaired to the 6 diffrent DPS jobs.

    Like wise, because there are so many more dps jobs there are also alot more people playing DPS which tend to be the only thing left to level after the carrier tank and carrier Healers get their WARs,PLDs, WHMs, and SCHs to 50. There is a over all imbalence in DPS to anything else ratio. THERE is the problem. Making 6 man dungeons would only cut DPS levels in half and still do nothing to make more tanks and healers show up.

    Yes, adding healer and tank classes would help, but ultimately, as another person said, people are not interested to play the role, so it's not about the class. But i still keep my position. Again, it's all about the ratio and i don't understand why you seem discrupted with this concept. Allow me to amplify. Imagine a 99 men raid with 1 healer, 1 tank and 97 DPS. Do you honestly think tanks would get instant queue ? OF course not. We would see DPS having instant queue.

    Make that "6 person content in addition to 8 person content" and I'll get behind you. I've played mmos with 2 person content lol and they were pretty darn fun.

    The only real issue i am finding in 6 men dungoen is the loot. Tanks and healers would get gear faster then the rest and that's quite unfair. A solution to that is the tank and healer gear would statistically drop less then the DPS, who would get a boost. I think that could work.

    Kaiser, the problem is people don't WANT to roll as a healer/tank. You can give all the incentives you want, but the novelties will wear off and if people don't want to go something besides DPS, then you can't exactly force them to. We can only hope Dark Knight and Astrologian are interesting enough for people to stick with them.

    Yes, this is the source of the imbalence in a way. Tanking and Healing is not a simple task (Though as a carieer DPS my self I'm not saying DPS is easy). I say it could add some more balence since there are plenty of people who will pla ya new class to 50 for the sake of having all 50s (Which is why I'm lvling BLM which I ROYALY Hate playing as). But some of those people will turn out to love the class and play it more regularly. All in all I have 4 favorite classes Dragoon (My main class) Paladin (Though I'm looking forward to Dark Knight), Bard (As I'm also an Archer IRL), and Summoner (Gotta love bending primals to your will). But there are people who WILL NEVER play as a tank or healer simply because they only like one class. But if there was more to pick from they may change their mind. I wasn't liking the looks of Rouge and Ninja until I gave them a shot. I also use to see Monks and White Mages as squishy punching backs till I played them my self and saw how bad ass they could be. But we eventually come to the paradox "You can't please eevery body". If they had wanted too they could have made it where your job was compleatly irrelevent. (Tanking Bards? Not on my watch! <Hallowed Ground> <Provokes then flash spanm>) It's a full time job just to filter what's a legit problem and who's just whineing because they secretly suck.
    but any way, more tanks and healers would help, but ultimatly nothing will fix it because Players use, abuse, and at times down right ignore the system. That's the whole reason Ninjas were so OP was because they were being played in a way that wasn't expected. So most of the problems in the game are entirely the fault of the players. And trying to change a way a person plays an mmo is like trying to change the way a culture practices religion, aka compleatly impossible.
