Oh oh I see what you mean. Yes, that would be kind of neat

As a healer I always hated healing MNK and DRG, after playing them I totally understand the not dodging in time always.

Taking hate away from a tank means I have to stop attacking that enemy for a bit (I can move onto another enemy in a group for a bit or just auto-attack for a bit) because if the tank is like me he'll be trying to get back aggro asap. No sense fighting the tank to hold aggro because the healer's just going to be cursing how much more they have to do to keep me healed up.

As a tank, I get out of AOEs just like I'd expect the dps to do (learned more from soloing, rather than because I raised a healer/dps). Unless, of course, it would be even more dangerous for me to move.

If a healer takes hate, they're so squishy they've gotta keep healing themselves through the damage, so as a tank I can't expect the healers to stop healing just so I can get hate back easier. I can, however, expect a healer to stand still or come to me.

As a dps, I have patience for the tank that has to run off with the trash pack to get that one thing beating on the healer, and my props go out to the tanks that have to deal with a BRD or other dps that decides to kite the mob instead of standing still.

This one is less an insight I've gained, and more one that still confuses the crap out of me:
You need to tell me that you're going to use Healer kiting as a strategy (why is it a strategy!?) before you do it. Otherwise, I'm either just going to try to take hate on the entire group and keep it as a tank, or I'm going to try to aoe the group down as a dps.

What I've learned with my Hayley Westenra character is that if you level everything (all jobs and classes) at the same time while progressing through the story, it REALLY does help you out as a player. All the classes help prepare you with your jobs by gathering materials to make gear, and that gear is needed for your jobs. If you check my FFXIV card on my signature, you will see that everything is nearly even. It's actually way more interesting playing the game that way. I'm in no rush to end-game. See if you get your crafting classes to a certain level, they can make gear for your jobs that are 5 levels ahead of what they are now. That's what's so good; crafting and gathering are beneficial to playing your jobs.

Not going to repeat a lot of the common ones already posted so ... positioning for Madison in Sastasha HM makes a big difference to everyone involved. Stay near the boss but in front of any casters so that if Madison charges at you, the melees don't have to run across the whole room and casters don't get interrupted because Madison is now 90 degrees from them or something. Stoneskin also blocks the knockback so there's even less movement/interruptions.

Maining DRG but having everything to 50, I feel like gives me a good understanding of what all jobs have to go through.

I have learned to enjoy Tanking and am able to see the pressure of being looked at as the lead of a team, but also, I feel that because I main DPS, when I do see a Tank that may be uncomfortable I can relate to them better than someone that has never tried the job.

Same with healing. I understand the roles a lot better.

I also feel that it helps me because I can adapt to any team easily.

I think the thing I've found most useful is having a good idea of how much HP each job has when they are a certain gear level. It makes it a lot easier to ballpark how geared people are in runs, and whether tanks are running STR or VIT builds.

Playing a Tank I learned to wait for Buffs so I don't Shield Lob and all the mobs run past me as it happens. Playing as a Healer I learned to time buffs so I don't get rekt when the tank Pulls 6+ mobs.

Playing monk taught me it's easier to keep your stacks than I thought if you just use the timing (maybe get one extra hit during a long cast. Say curtain calls and then shoulder tackle back as soon as cast bar disppearas. Yet I see sooo many monks that cant keep it up.

im leveling dragoon now and i cant see any skills that will give me skillspeed so leveling that job taught me so far that it might be the most boring dps. Maybe ill be proven wrong when I get it to 50 but the 2.5 sec gcd makes it boring to play. Think about it. Everytime you use one attack you have to wait 2.5 seconds. 2.5 seconds is too long and just makes the game way to easy.

That you can relax and have fun in FFXIV without running dungeons 100% of the time.

Whenever I stand around in my lvl 50 dragoon dreading my first run of Titan Hard (that I'm way undergeared for but SE makes that first GD relic weapon so freaking hard to get...) I remember that I'm playing FF to relax and have fun and get away from a stressful life - so I fire up my leatherworker and just peace out with that (the plus side of which, she can make gear for my up-and-coming archer and rogue)
