I'm sure you know this but I see a lot of non-main tanks don't.
It puts you at the top of the hate list by 1 unit of aggro, anything can take hate off you - so always follow up that provoke with something or be prepared to lose it again. Some games lock hate to you for a few seconds, so I imagine that's what they expect here too lol.

When I decided to gear up MNK I learned how annoying it is to have a tank that doesn't stand still.
As a tank, face mobs away from the rest of the group and use cooldowns now and then so your healer has an easier time keeping your HP up. Hold mobs still and for the love of god don't stand in AOEs.
As a healer, don't start healing until the tank has used Flash/Overpower and has grabbed aggro on everything, which includes not using regen right before a pull.
As a DPS, wait until the tank's grabbed aggro on mobs before I unload, and stick to the mob they're focusing on unless there's 3 or more mobs, then AOE. Also, if I have DPS support skills (bard songs, mantra, goad, etc), use them when needed. Anything that makes the run easier.
Just a few things I've picked up on having played all battle classes :P

I do the same - if I don't know something, still learning a dungeon/trial or just want to chillax, I WHM....I think that just goes for learning new things (or maybe playstyle?). I typically gravitate to my healer when I want to be more relaxed. Or if I need to do raid leading etc because it doesn't require as much focus from me. I also spend more time on my healer too... I rarely dps so it takes a lot more focus for me to do well in that role.
Tanking is an absolute super-stresser for me

Rotate your enmity combo around the mobs. If we are talking about marking orders it is probably one pack of mob we are talking about, and usually 1 pack = 3 mob.
When I tank I don't even mark at all. The DPS can hit whichever donkey they want and I hold hate on all 3. Rotating enmity combos is so damn simple.

I know about Provoke. What I was talking about was something where hate, or Enmity, or Aggro, or whatever is supposed to be the term used (I've seen all three be used for the context in FFXIV) is actually transferred from the party member to you, not just instantly gaining one unit more of Hate/Enmity/Aggro than the person with currently the most hate.I'm sure you know this but I see a lot of non-main tanks don't.

Using it and then doing nothing else is pretty much a waste of the skill unless you just wanted to make the monster yo-yo.
Healing is hard.
Healers dont get enough props.
I will not be attempting to heal again, for everyones sanity.

Melee take damage and it is a pain. I main as a DRG, but after playing a healer, man do I work harder to avoid the front, get out of circles, and drop aggro the instant I get it.
