That would be pretty great. An anniversary event that includes gear relating to previous titles in the FF series would be pretty exciting.

Well, there are only two at present: the FFXI Shantotto event and FFXIII's Lightning Strikes.
FF3 and FF6 already have representation in-game. FFVII might get something after DRK is released (Buster Sword)
The fan-service for that was the limit break;

You can hope that they add the event one more time when FFXIII Lightning Returns is released on PC.

Just a warning since I see lv27 is the highest job you have... If you catch wind that the event returns, grind to 45 as fast as you can, because, yeah... you need that ridiculous level in order to get the lv13 body piece.
I don't mind seasonal events being segregated to the cash shop, though with Lightning returns, I do think they could consider making that a Golden Saucer item.
For those who have seen the screenshots of the Golden Saucer their is a Gilgamesh vibe to some of the areas suggesting that the production of the Golden Saucer and it's entertainment value also took inspiration from the mysterious traveler Gilgamesh, a being who from past FF titles is known to traverse dimensions and obtain the weapons of defeated heroes.
With that in mind placing a "special event" item like Lightning or Snow's gear would make sense since the Golden Saucer could be seen as a place that celebrates the oddities and strange people that make their way into the area.
Heck maybe we will be in for a surprise and when they release the Golden Saucer they might actually include "Setzer" in some way as to why his gear is obtainable through the golden saucer.
You should mind, it's a horrible practice. I applauded SE when the winter event also let you get the 1.0 items, now they seem to favor money over customer happiness.I don't mind seasonal events being segregated to the cash shop, though with Lightning returns, I do think they could consider making that a Golden Saucer item.

We were the first to kill Ifrit.
