Expansion and Weapons/Armor

I just returned to ARR and I still have my relic weapon. With the expansion coming out, should I still work on my relic +1 and zodiac weapons? Or would I be wasting my time and money because of the expansion?

Someone said that there would be a new weapon set coming out and that the relic and zodiac weapons would be obsolete and I would be better off saving my money and tombstones because I could just go straight for whatever the new weapon and armor set is.

So I'm confused. I just need to know. Is there a new weapon and armor set coming out? If so, should I continue working on my relic +1 and zodiacs or just save my money and wait?

Relic +1 is drop dead simple.

Anima is easier to get now.

But there will always be tome and dungeon drop weapons.

The big question is do you enjoy grinding? The relic will always be upgradeable. It will always be grindy.

I just dont want to waste time grinding for relic upgrades if the new expansion is going to introduce a new weapon all together. Thats my problem. Idk if I should still grind or just wait for the expansion.

Wait for it. Not worth it anymore to grind them. Best you can do is collect a bunch of soldiery tomes and buy a ilvl100 weapon in Mor Dhona. Play Syrcus Tower to get an unidentified allagan tomestone and upgrade that weapon to i110. Can easily be done during a few hours and you a have weapon wich is good enough for every content in this game.

Edit: You can most likely get i120 weapon in 2.5 with the same amount of work.
