Unable to start the game after hotfix!

So ever since I downloaded the recent hotfix patch, whenever I try to begin the game after logging in on the client, it gives me a message saying "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005). Clock OK to close the application." I've NEVER had this problem before, the game's always worked fine for me before. Here's what the log says:

I have a very similar problem, however I do not get an error window with information like that. Instead I get the generic windows "This program has stopped responding" window, and I must close it myself. Crashes every single time in this manner after clicking the play button, the game window will open to a black screen as usual but will immediately fail. My best guess is that something with the hotfix broke my launcher. Will I need to reinstall the game entirely to get it to work?

Before reinstalling try resetting your password.
Sounds strange but helped many ppl in similar situations.

Just to rule it out... has the system gone through a full shutdown and restart cycle since the update. Not a hibernation cycle, but an actual shutdown. It is possible some files are pulling from cached versions and not the updated ones.

Also, are your browser(s) and their technologies (flash, .net, etc.) up to date. Along that same note, have you updated the rules in your security software to recognize the new version of the executables for FFXIV?

Just want to get those off the table, as they are some of the common culprits.

I can confirm that doing a shutdown/reboot of my PC solved the problem. When I first attempted after the download, FFXIV never launched, it just stayed on my desktop screen. Turned off my PC(Did some can aired cleaning too) and was able to get in after I started it back up.

Oh dear, I probably should've done that! Because now I'm going through the grueling wait of reinstalling everything! Oh dear.

In any case, I'll let y'all know if that fixed it.

Mine has been fixed, though I didn't reboot or anything, I just tried again later and it worked. Least it's working now!
