With so many peaple playing, why is the market boards so slow?

Seriously I like to just craft and gather, and I always keep around 60 items up for sell. Always try to keep my prices at around the level according to price history. Today I only sold 3 items outa 60..... I mean its pretty much like this every day. Some days I may sell around 7 items like on the weekends, but during the week its even slower.

I don't bother with end game, so maybe that's why.... I just do stuff pre 50. Level all crafts, gathering, so forth since I been playing.

I'm beginning to wonder why I play the way I do. How come the market boards are so slow when we have this many people playing the game?

Edit: this is an alt-character I posted with, I'm actually on ultros now.

It all depends on what you are selling.

Because not all the market boards are shared across all servers on a data center.

As previously said it depends on what you're selling. I sell low level stuff and sell lots of things. But not all things sell equally as fast.

For example: limestone is used in high quantities in crafting a lot of items. People who don't want to gather a lot will buy. It's also used to make mortar, which in turn is also used in high quantities for a lot of items.
Grass viper is used for 2 items. There's less people who need to buy it since it's only used for 2 items, and if they need it, it's quicker to get since the player only need 1-2 (compared to 10-40+ for limestone/mortar)

So a lot of factors affect it: demand, quantity needed, quantity of stack being sold (if someone needs 3 of X material, they're more likely to buy a stack of 10 at 120gil than a stack of 50 at 110 gil, for example, because the overall cost of the bigger stack is more and the quantity is unneeded), difficulty of acquiring (ex: fine wax), usefulness (of item itself or items crafted from it), price, HQ/non-HQ usefulness, etc..

Limestone sells quick (as long as it's reasonably priced); grass viper doesn't.

The market boards aren't slow. Just make sure you are selling in-demand items at a competitive price. If you're selling whole stacks, try breaking those stacks up into smaller quantities. Don't just look at the listings for items you are thinking of selling. Make sure to check the item history to make sure that the item even sells regularly.

In a good day I can pull down 2-3 mil. Maybe it's a server thing? Is Ultros low population?

As a crafter/marketer on Ultros, I can confidently say you're selling the wrong items or you're not updating your prices often enough (hi undercutters).

Just kidding, Ultros just sucks and is full of poor players.

... no, but really, you're selling the wrong items (and Ultros sucks).

If I do a "sale day" where I spend all day gathering/crafting I always sell upwards to 60 items. You're not selling the right things or your server is poor...or something.

You need to be patient with the MB. It will sell. Eventually. Even if you don't undercut, most will sell.

Many players are BROKE from buying overpriced items for the Zodaic Relic Quest. lol

And Yeah....Ultros has a very BAD Economy. Everything is overpriced and we have TONS of bots. Just check the MB, you''ll see the same person selling 99 of the same thing with 20 differtant listings.

The market always fluctuates. Today, 4 star items maybe hot, tomorrow, 1 star items maybe hot and it changes continuously. In order to sell consistently in any MMO, you need to be able to predict and observe market changes quickly and readjust your goods to catch the demand. The market is not something that is static and says the same "X" amount of item "Y" is sold everyday. It goes more along the lines of a random "X" amount of item "Y" is sold everyday.

Your goods are just on the lower demand side of the spectrum in the market at the current time.
