I completely understand that. However, can you point to some non-CGI SE-created gameplay videos for FFXIV that would be appealing to someone who isn't already playing the game? Because I would like to show them to a few friends/potential subscribers for a change.

Edit: Also, while I understand who these trailers are aimed at, I can't say I agree with the wisdom of not attempting to use these trailers as an opportunity to attract new players. In my opinion they're simply fan-service and wasted opportunities. Some better gameplay trailers with more focus would have gone a long way towards getting me on board sooner.

I wouldn't say thats a good trailer to get subscribers as it shows absolutely no gameplay content, although it was a well done video and I did enjoy watching it. Thanks for the link.

It is exclusively advertising new features and doesn't show a single existing feature. It isn't for new players. It's wholly inadequate for new players.

So you expected stuff that would only change with the expansion to start coming into the game before the expansion released? Unrealistic. This is still a 2.0 patch AND it's continuing the cycle started in 2.4. If you expected anything but more of the same then you were setting yourself up for deliberate disappointment. They won't change the way the system works mid cycle. Wait for the expansion.
