It's a MAJOR UPDATE, and yes, it needs a trailer, after all it's an MMORPG and it's common to release trailers for major updates. You're assuming that everyone has already researched what's coming up, but the truth is that a lot of people don't even know that there's a patch scheduled for this month. Trailers are good for marketing, it allows people that aren't currently subscribed to the game to see everything that's coming up soon, rather than just reading it up somewhere. I resubbed after watching the 2.4 trailer and I know I wasn't the only one.
