i highly doubt this, ishgard is clearly something tie with heavenward, then why have a "battle of ishgard" into a 2.x patch? more seriously, you can't bring a story out of nowhere. they are building the arrival of the 3.x (and possibly the 4.x already with the new emperor). the fact that we have seen a ashien next to the archibishop was clearly for point that the next story will be there.

all of this for say, the 2.5 part 1 will probably the end of the story that still going like omega arma, the decision of nanamo and the end of the plot of the small rascal hehe

You know that you can't put a limit on what is Heavensward story and what is ARR story, there is a transition between the two and not a clear cut.

Have people forgotten that 3.0 Main Scenario will take us to the new Sky Continent?

3.0 isn't going to be all about the Ishgard area but most likely Ishgard may only be Arc 1 of 3.0 Main Scenario (probably only around 1/3 or 1/4 of 3.0 Main Scenario) while Part 2 goes into the new Sky Continent where we will fight the new Primal and Beast Tribe while exploring the place and discovering a new threat that force us into saving the world once again.

Has there been any mention of new hairstyles coming with the new patch?

That doesn't mean killing an ascian, we will discover that they were pulling some strings, and even if we fight him, nothing says that it will be before the battle of Ishgard, it's even more likely to fight them at the end of this battle or in 3.0, you can't really know that they manipulate the pope if you never even set foot in the city.

Yes but Iceheart may, and that could be the reason she switched sides to fight the Ishgardians. Also her sending us to find the truth at Mor Dhona could be where we find out (our characters) that an Ascian is pulling the strings in Ishgard.

@ Alberel, where do you come to the conclusion Midgardsormr must be resurected, as nothiing says "he must".

2.5 + part 2, wont just be the ending, but probably the transition as well towards 3.0. Will we find out the truth behind Primals? Discover the true nature of the Echo? can't wait to see

IIRC, I believe it's the Lalas turn for exclusive hairstyles.

Lalas got new hairstyles last patch along with the miqote, they just weren't featured in the patch notes for some odd reason. The female one has two pig tails in the back and the male one is a short look.
