    Can My New Laptop Run FF14

    Hey, I'm currently running FF14 on PS3 but want to move to playing on my new Asus laptop(when it arrives). I'm just wondering if it will be possible, and what settings I might be able to play on.
    Here's the specs

    -Windows 8.1
    -Core i7-4510U 2.0 GHz dual core Processor w/ 3.1GHz Turbo, 4 Hyperthreads, 4MB Smart Cache
    -8gb ram
    -1TB SATA HDD
    -17.3" HD+ (1600 x 900) display
    -NVIDIA GeForce GT 840M w/ 2GB GDDR3 VRAM

    Those specs are the same as my wife's laptop. She plays on High settings.

    YMMV, imo. Back then my older laptop was running on GTX 765M GPU and I don't always get 60FPS in all zone on high settings. When out in the open world doing FATEs I might get around 45FPS or so. However, I'm powering a FHD (1920x1080) display while yours is slightly lesser in resolution.

    Yours isn't a GTX card and as such you can try around with the settings to see what suits you best. For a smoother viewing experience you might want to try with mid settings first.
