Looking for tips on How to find a good FC

I am looking for a group of people who loves to play ffxiv. Thus far, if I find a group that has active members, they seem to be elitist and rarely want to help with content where they don’t get something. Or I find cool and helpful people, but they are rarely on.

IMO, The joy of helping people is what makes OUR game special and we get to have epic battles over and over. (Titan, I’m looking at you). Do you think and feel the same?

I’d love to be part of a group that:

-Runs content for the sake of its members with fun and excitement, not grumbling and contempt
-Cares about the training and progression of the FC or LS as a whole
-Has the social skills and likes to chat – Go go TS!
    -Values mature and considerate folk.
-(Bonus) Has memebrs going to FFxiv Fan Fest – Go Las Vegas

If you have tips on finding good groups, let me know. If you know of or are part of a crew like this, reply or PM me. I am willing to change servers, if a group like this is out there.

Tip 1: Never ever join an FC that throws out blind invites
    2: Check your server forums
3: Uhh..beyond that try to make friends with them or join their LS first if they have one?

My fc/ls sounds a lot like what you want, BUT we focus on catching people up (particularly new people) rather than actual progression, so at the moment we spend a lot of time farming 1st coil and helping people with story missions

Seems to me like good FCs (or guilds in any game in general) ask you to join after you get to know a member or you make an impression.

From an objective point of view with a little good reputation/shout/LS here and there of course, trial and improvement is the only way. A comparison for example would be if I asked a number of people what's a good strat-based game. All of them would have different outlooks on which is the best one (according to them).

    Best bet is either:
-Find an FC and make it a home for you
-Leave FC if not to your liking, then repeat step 1
-Get a really close in-game friend to invite you to his FC (assuming they said it good)

Took me a good few FCs to find the right one and I hope you find yours soon!

I just joined and left FC's, if after 3 or so days I wasn't feeling it, I moved onto the next. After a month I found one to settle down on.

Avoid ninja random invites first of all, as they welcome you only as a number and not as a member. If you want progressing at your own pace, find ones that are casual on this, some hardcore raid FC will impose a schedule for you to come online to raid or else you get shoved with blames (which is the reason for most static's downfall and people quitting raid/this game). You can join the FC to find out if it's good for you or up to your expectations, some FC even lie to you claiming they are "pro" or "friendly" but everyone in there could just be zombies waiting for fresh meat. Leave the moment when they start saying things like "freesshhh meatt" or "braaiinnsS!!"

Also when considering server transfer you might want to consider -where- to transfer, it's going to be hard if you transferred to a wrong one where the timezone isnt suitable for you (like NA -> EU server). You can create another alt character in other server to find a place that you can fit in before you consider transfer.

If the FC I'm in had more members, I'd say we might be what you're looking for. At the moment, we have no schedule and just help people do whatever, whenever. We were working on T5 and Titan EX, but lost a few members for reasons out of our control. We plan to pick that back up soon, regardless of lacking members.

We're very small right now. Not usually more than 7 people on at once. We also have a very wide range of humor, so if you're easily offended even if it's all in jokes and fun, best to stay far far away.

We also are active pretty late. Probably ranging from 5pm EST to ~6am EST.

If you get desperate and everything but our lack of members fits with you, we're here on Behemoth.

    Hiya!

I made a character on Behemoth by the name of Moshe Feldenkrais. I thought you could use a hand in rebuilding. I'm online now.

I disagree with the people saying avoid FCs inviting anyone and everyone because all they care about is numbers. Well okay, that depends on the FC. Our FC leader for the Shiva FC on Leviathan server invites anyone and everyone because we are an FC that targets all areas, whether you are casual or hardcore. Doesn't matter what class/job you are, or what level you are, or whether you are into PVE, PVP, or RP. At the same time he will delete anyone that has not been online a certain amount of time based on their rank within the FC. So he gets rid of inactives and replenishes them with new invites. This has caused some people to leave the FC as soon as they see this barrage of deletions and invites, which I'm guessing are people similar to the couple in this thread telling you to avoid. There are a lot of inactives since we are the most populated FC among any server in the game, but we also have tons of active social chat members. We also have a mumble server for voice chatting that some of us use. Some of them even accused the leader of scamming people for gil thinking that none of us have been in FC very long thinking he kicks people and invites new ones for the purpose of scamming. This is not true. While yes we do care about high numbers of active members so we have a healthy active FC, many of us have grown to know each other and have become good friends.

We are highly social and active. We do not have any core FC static progression groups yet, but myself and some other FC mates are planning to form one soon as I've been looking into finding a hosting site for our FC website. So as it stands we don't have what you're looking for as we only meet criteria 1, 3, and 4 of the 5 criteria you listed. Criteria 2 only applies to our savings for a large FC mansion. Static progression grouping coming soon. Hope you find what you're looking for.

There is no magic recipe, you just play and when find people of your taste you may ask join them FC.

About ninja invites, as long as you cannot judge nobody by knowing nothing of them, we send rogue invites, and people who join can stay and feel how the FC is good for them, if that not their taste, then simply leave. Joining a FC isn't like a marriage.
