Being punished for playing with friends? (would love dev insight)

Make another alt and start over on your desired server. This way, you won't lose anything but time. You won't lose Gil because you earn Gil with time nor your character's process as they both can be fixed with Time. As far as I see, you have plenty of Time to waste, so why not waste them in a good way?

You keep your house and your old character,you can play with your friends. Happy Ending!!!

Now back to the house, so you want your house exist in a unreachable third dimension?

Oh and if you really miss 3 mils that much, asking your friends each spare 1 mil (Pretty sure they have at least 1 mil) and unless you have less than 3 friends playing, you are easy to have that 3 mils back. Problem solved.

Well, if you want to keep the plot, it means the player who bought it on the server you want to go to should lose it. You can't both have it.

Unless you only want a gil refund and not the plot? You're being very vague and confusing on this, not like you can have either for reasons that have already been explained.

Also, making points against your argument (which was opened with a title that simply calls for White Knights, I may add) does not imply the wish to "rip it apart". It simply means there are people who, as astounding as this concept may be, disagree with you and have explanations for that. If threads were made only to have agreeable posts, it wouldn't be a "General Discussion" thread. It'd be General Agreement.

Sorry but you're not being "punished". It's just simply the price you gotta pay for a choice no one is forcing you to make. Otherwise I could make the complaint I get "punished" for driving my car because I have to spend money on gas.

I should really make a complaint that I get charged by using electricity,water and gas and I HAVE TO spend the money to pay for the usage....HOLY COW!!! They are natural resources and I have to pay to use them while those companies take them for free from nature??? I am being punishing real hard @-@...HELP! !!!

Get over yourself OP, they're not maliciously punishing you, it's just how the system was designed. Yes, it does suck that you can't transfer your house but you coming here and playing the victim isn't going to get you any more sympathy from SE or from the playerbase.

Housing is limited, some servers have no plots available, so by design it makes sense that they don't let people playing on different servers, with different economies and housing prices, transfer their plots.

It's simply a programming oversight. They're not maliciously "punishing" you, it's just they set a hardline on the "no refunds" thing with housing because they want them to be gil sinks. If you could get a return on your purchase for any reason, it would negate the purpose of the gil sink in the first place.
And if you think this game doesn't need gil sinks...yyyeeeeaahhhh

I always hate games that use the 'gold sink' excuse to make things astronomically expensive. There's always going to be kids that spend their life in-game and have crazy amounts of gold. To wrap content around THEM, screws your average player over big time.

They should remember that it's only the top 10% that can afford all these things and they are shutting out the vast majority of players from content. ...and here I'm referring to housing that everyone should be able to get for a reasonable cost up front. THEN, gil-sink you to upgrade it if they want.

Is there really any need to spend any Gil in the game to progress??? Over 1 year of playing this game, I assure you the total amount of Gil I spent is less than 3 mils and 2.5 mils going for the crafting basic mats. Unless you go HC, you can literally playing this game with less than 100k in the inventory.

Hey OP that like saying in RL that you want to move to another town but you shouldn't have to buy another house cause you already owned one in the other town. It a personal problem not a SE problem.
