Let the crafters reign supreme when it comes to equipment.
That's cool for crafters and all but really sucks for those of us who don't craft.

I know, if I don't like it then I should go level a craft blah blah blah

only a non crafter would seriously expect to take away steam from crafters
lol, it must be so horrible having chances at the best gear in game that would cost a non crafter 20m+ each item to buy. Must also be horrible pretty much running the economy. Must also suck that the hardest drops to get in the game are still not better then common stuff you can get in the wards that can be easily crafted. You poor crafters, it must be terrible!

This game is probably 98% Crafting freaks so obviously I am only one of a few who have this opinion lol.

No. If anything, dungeons need to drop various Materia. SE should also make it guaranteed once you complete a dungeon you at least get 1 random Materia.
Materia only droped from Warrior types converting their equipment.

I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders. Thank You SE, Thank You Community Team, Thank You Yoshi-P.

and you shouldnt have to, and you dont have to
but you have the option to fight for gil to buy from a crafter, which works just as well
most gear isnt as expensive as people make it out to be

Are you referring to the spiritbond on equipment that can be converted into Materia once full? Sorry if i didn't understand you.
Gathers can also get catalysts for crafters to make into Materia as well. They also can be traded.

If SE did decide to make HQ armor drop from dungeons, then crafters could still come out better by crafting/attaching HQ materia onto it. It could also work the other way around and have good materia drop but not HQ armor.

Dungeons have the benefit of R/EX armor though, so i don't think they should drop +3. Just unique armor & materia, imo.

Would be a nice idea, if HQ items besides weapons were actually worth a damn.

If all my armor were +3, that would only mean an extra 60 defense or so, which is equivalent to an extra pair or [item=8070106]Iron Gauntlets[/item]. It makes a minimal amount of difference, hardly worth the effort.

We need to see how stat algorithm changes play out. I doubt it'll be a whole lot, but still better than what we have now.

if HQ raid gear was added...

Hq+3 would have to be around +1 craft gear

This makes NQ raid gear totally worthless as the NQ crafting gear would be ~10% better than NQ raid gear. (and cost probably 30k so they'd be easily obtainable)

This leads to people not even doing the dungeon because you'd need a +3 at a rare drop rate to even be an upgrade/sidegrade to NQ or +1.

Quote from this week Producer Letter:

Addition of new craftable items and revision of stats on existing ones as part of the introduction of new synthesis recipes

There's also a dev post stating that HQ system is changing to STR+3 becoming STR+4 or the likes (iirc). You can't build an opinion on the actually broken HQ system that only benefits defense on armors and builds huge gaps on HQ vs NQ on r50ish weapons.

The world NM system is better than dungeons imho, dropping +3 parts, thus preventing them to become completely obsolete since you can kill them over and over again if you really want an Aeolian Scimitar +3 crafted.

I'm trying to stretch the same concept to dungeons to extend their lives, knowing that the multiple incoming changes are keeping the balance between crafted and dropped items.

Catalysts are used to mount Materia to an item. Materia only can be created by Spiritbonding equipment.
