    We had this in 1.0 before Yoshi-p.. everyone hated that battle system.. Remember the old days of having to hold the shield button to use your shield and that was the only way to pop shield abilities. No one really liked it when we had.

    and no no to skill chains and magic bursts like ffxi. When and IF i miss Xi ill go play that.

    Mastanight. This is how the game was deliberately designed. Before released there was even some Dev info where they talked about specifically removing action elements from battles. Simply put the problems you listed are here to stay by design. This game probably is not for you.

    As many have stated before, if you're looking for an engaging combat system, I also agree that TERA would be the best place to look. This game's battle system is designed this way, I don't expect any seriously sweeping changes unless we blow up the world once again.

    My suggestion is for making the game better and more interesting, instead of so basic. Yes it is true I have been playing for awhile, but am bored with the simple battle system as I progress and playing became very easy compared to when I started. Sounds to me like some players like to follow square-enix like a sheep in a herd.

    I would like the combat to become a little more advanced. We don't need an action game or anything crazy, but at the end of this start and the beginning of the new expansion, I feel it needs something more.

    Then like i was told by replies, maybe a MMORPG is not for these players because its supposed to be more involved then tinker toy easy. A RPG is not what I really see, like to build on stats other than gear level. This is more of an action fighting game anyways, why not have the difficulty also?

    Action fighting game would imply that the player has more involvement in the fights instead of "click this button to use some flashy moves". This game is more like a hyper version of FF12.

    It's an RPG first and an action game second.

    RPGs at their core are based on stats and the random factor of the dice roll. Whether you block an attack or not should be based on your parry stat, not on your reflexes. Give players the ability to block / roll to evade and you basically negated the parry / evade stats.

    I actually like the 2.5 GCD. It emulates the classic Active Time Battle system in a way, which only adds to the Final Fantasy feel.

    Well, mostly what I mean is if players like the game's battle system as is thats fine, I just think there is room for improvement. Just seems weird that FF11 seem to have a more advanced battle system than A Realm Reborn but it was released way after.
