Why are some players so resistant to change?

I've wanted to try this method after hearing about it a week or two ago. Sadly (or not), my duty finder teams all just do it the regular way. I usually just step into the center after getting aggro and throw out some holy bombs to make quick work of the adds. It doesn't take that much longer I guess. To each their own.

Ive seen DPS with 6k HP doing shit dmg on tank n spank bosses.

Im not going to run around with 50 adds and die, because i trusted a bunch of random baddies. (I never did it, so dont bother calling me bad.)
This shit is just as cool as skipping the one mob pack in Temple, which 90% of time, does not work with PUGs.

There is no need to change, you should just stop forcing other players to do something, they are not interested in.

...the hilarious thing is, when I read this, I thought that the method was something different than healer kites everything...

Cause...from the very beginning, that's what my group always did. They would hit me and I wouldn't care enough to have the tank/dps take them off me. So in the end, me just taking them became standard.

Just like how in Qarn, people kinda get moody if you don't skip the one mob pack...I had no idea that you could but it's not like it takes anything more than a few seconds to deal with that pack. Why do macros and get bent outta shape about it?

On the other hand, how much time do you save with this strategy? Another 30 secs.? The same time you spend waiting for the other members to read your macro (note there are people who can't understand English or whatever language you are using) and agree?

30 seconds matter when contents can realistically be completed in 30 minutes. Then people extend that sentiment (that 30 seconds matter) into contents that take 2 hours.

Sadly this is the business model that works nowadays. There are simply more people who would pay for something they don't want to spend time in, than people who pay for something and want to spend time on it.

oh i understand where you are coming from, but when people have to run STQ multiple times for a single zodiac drop, the faster the better. and we have run Q in 20min before using this and other methods

on a normal DF roulette run, i dont really care, just a suggestion cause i have had a 0% wipe rate using this method >.<

Actually, if your healer is a WHM the healer can just deal with the adds via Holy. That's what I do actually, I'm literally on benediction healing.

Personally speaking, I am not much of a fan of speed runs. Sure, if the party wants to do one then I go ahead without complaining. I just like doing dungeons etc the way they were meant to be played. Sure, it may take more time but... its a game, are we playing because we enjoy the combat, challenge, hunt etc? Plus, its good for those new to the dungeon and endgame to further help understand mechanics and their class.

That is just me though!

That would explain why I get swarmed every so often...if that's the method they want to use, I'm happy to try anything once and seewhat happens! But since I just learned of this healer kite method here...yeah...

Thanks for making a macro, even if I never group with you.

But yeah, I'd try anything at least once. I'm not a fan of speedrunning, especially when I'm on tank. I know what damage I can take, but I don't know how much the healer can do, because I know I have trouble at times with my i110 WHM (yes I suck. Make fun of me.). I do know that I can kite though.
