Weird UI lag on PS4

I'm trying to ascertain what kind of lag I am experiencing: PS4 graphic lag, local internet/network lag, server network lag, or my pet theory, some kind of PS4 controller lag. It happens for a span of 30s - 3m at a time, maybe at 15 minute intervals. I notice it the most in dungeons (when the life of my party depends on my healing), but it does not solely occur in dungeons. I don't notice it on any other games.

When this lag occurs, actions I take on the controller:

1. May not be registered at all.
2. May be registered with a delay.
3. May be registered numerous times.

Here are examples of each:

1. I click my button for "Cure" and nothing happens. Not at that moment, or at any point in the future (insofar as I have waited). Or, I might click R2 on my controller, and it doesn't even bring up my R2 hotbar.

2. I click my button for "Cure", and it happens, but with significant (.5s - 3s) delay. Or, I use the right analog stick to change camera angle, and it is very delayed. This also happens with left analog stick movement.

3. I have my teleport menu open, and press d-pad down, but instead of going down once, it goes down several times. This is true of virtually any UI that uses the d-pad to navigate.

Any information regarding what kind of lag this is, or how to resolve it, is appreciated.

A bit of additional info that may be helpful:
* I have an excellent connection, with an excellent router. I never have any issues out of it.
* I am not referring to any macro buttons when I talk about this lag; I am aware they have their own "delay".
* The PS4 is wireless. If wiring it might solve this problem, I can adjust the networking behind my TV.
* I do have my PS4 networking MTU set to 1473 in the aftermath of the PSN outage.

Shameless bump, because this puts me in really scary situations when party healing, and makes me hesitant to even try tanking..

I have been playing for two months on my ps4 without any sort of lag issues at all. Even when fighting Odin with tons of players on screen it went off without a hitch. All of a sudden tonight I can't even craft without major lag. I've tested my connection and everything seems fine. I've ran the browser on ps4 and it's running super fast. I'm so sad, it's my Friday night and was looking forward to playing a lot but this makes it unplayable.

I had this problem with other games, looks like it's something PS4 related. Noticed that, when my Ps4 stays on the floor, or with a lot of objects in front of him, it often happens.

I refuse to accept that Ps3 controllers has better connections than Ps4 ones, but it looks like it.

This issue happened with me on Diablo and Destiny, for exemple.

I have no idea why this problem just started for me. I went in my router and enabled port forwarding and gave my ps4 a static IP. I notice a speed difference in everything else i run but still game breaking lag in FFXIV. It's a shame. Maybe tomorrow it will work again.
