Housing Suggestion/Idea: Apartments

So from what I keep hearing in Shout chat & reading on the forums it looks like the Housing is not rolling out as smoothly as folks would like.

Well... (I'm sure someone has mentioned it before but I don't feel like digging through pages upon pages of forums)

Why not add some Apartment buildings. This would definitely help out the Casual Crowd & below.
The system for Apartments is IMO already in the game through the Innroom & Personal Rooms in current Housing.
Basically create a few buildings that resemble Apartment buildings, and have each door lead to a Private Instance of said Apartment.

Yes in theory this may break some "immersion" by having say Apartment 201 belong by multiple players.
But with each Player's version being a private instance it also kind of does not break the immersion.

Have each Apartment charge Monthly Rent but allow an Escrow balance so players can pay rent for months at a time.
When entering said Apartment have a window pop up that asks:
(If you own the Apartment):
"Enter your Apartment" & "Pay Rent"
(If you do not own the Apartment)
"Visit Apartment" - This feature would then request a Player's Name be entered or offer you a Tour of an empty apartment so you can get a feel for it. See if you want to buy it.
"Purchase Apartment" - Nuff Said

While inside the Apartment, the player could decorate their Apartment just like with Player Housing, and since it's an Apartment building, the Building could have it's own Chocobo Stable & Garden. As it feels like those would be somethings every Apartment Complex would have in Eorzea.

Honestly I am taking this idea from Everquest 2. Where player Housing varied from 1 Room - 5 Room Apartments; all the way to 6 Room 2 floor Houses & massive Guild Halls.

In my Personal Opinion Houses in FFXIV are more like Guild Halls if anything.
The Small Homes seem more like Guild Dives.

So Apartments could cater to the Casual/Everyday player.

I see Apartments benefiting:
Casual Players, Solo Players, Small-Group Players, Players with very limited time, Players who dislike Guilds/Free Companies.
Players who do not have countless hours to farm Gil, play the Market, and are bad at long term money management.

Just an Idea/Suggestion. I enjoy this game and I would love to have my own place to crash in it.

I was just thinking about something like this being in Revenant's Toll.

...and it wouldn't break immersion for everyone to have the same apartment entrance point, either, as technically, from each player's perspective, it is their apartment and no one else's. Kinda like the whole "Warrior of Light" thing. Only you are the Warrior of Light. No one else. *points at the next person* Only you are the Warrior of Light. This idea could sort of work with a post I made in the "Ask Questions for Letter from the Producer"-thread, though I'm not sure about the rent-thing since that might lock you out of something that was already yours.

The only difference I can think of is rather than shelling out 300k gil (and be at the mercy of FC leaders) you can just pay a monthly rent (lets say 10k gil/month)

Also, it would allow not only for people who already have an FC room to have another room to themselves that are incapable of buying a house due to lack of funds, but it would also allow for people who prefer not to be in an FC to have a room of their very own.

A 10k monthly fee sounds very reasonable for this (as I personally can make 15k running a single Expert Roulette), and maybe there could be an option to store money inside a "Rent Box" with a deposit-only option that would allow players to contribute to their rent gradually over the month rather than all at once. In this manner, players could completely pay off each month up to 30 days in advance in installments to be controlled by the player.

I am completely opposed to this, unless I am able to buy all of the apartment buildings, bribe the GC Officials handling zoning, property taxes, and personal rights regarding equal housing opportunity, extort the local officials into funneling all of their section eight registers into my apartments, and befriend the local coding agent as my fishing buddy so maintenance becomes non-existent easing the stress of upkeep and overall ethical responsibilities.

Then and only then will I consider this, and consider it I shall (strokes evil guy mustache)
