    fishers Intuition

I got a buff called "Fisher's Intuition" while fishing off Cape Westwind today tryin to finsh the 1000 achievement. after i caught a HQ wahoo and had message in chat somethin large is looking for food ( somethin like that)

but it got away since my fishing stats are bad only like 307 gathering ._. so my questions are please..

    1. what kind of stats do u need to hook those?
    2. does it happen anywhere?
    3. are there certain specifics to activate this buff or is it random from fishin long periods?

Fisher's Intuition is a buff used to catch certain big fish, the gathering requirements and the time the buff lasts change depending on which big fish you are going for.
Off the top of my head w/o looking it up:
5 boxing pleco in North Shroud in the Ixali Camp give a 5 minute buff for Cornelia
6 wahoo's in Cape Westwind give a buff for Pirate's bane
In Mor Dhona North Shards silver fish > assassin betta > canavan mooch give a 23 minute buff for Kuno the Killer
In South Shroud Urth's Gift Giant Takitaro gives a 1 minute buff for Namitaro
On the Rhotano Privateer in Eastern La Noscea, 3 little Thalaos give a buff for Nepto Dragon
I think there are a few others can't remember them but if you want to catch these big fish the info is around. http://en.ff14angler.com/ is a great site to use among others.

All of the fisher's intuition fish were added in patch 2.4, and they all have pretty high stat requirements. The easiest is the Imperial Goldfish at Red Mantis Falls in Eastern La Noscea, which requires 359 Gathering to land. Most require 383, or even more.

At 307 Gathering, you have a long way to go before you'll be able to get serious about Big Fishing, but once you do ff14angler is a wonderful resource. That said, I usually use it in conjunction with the fishing threads on these forums:
Big Fish and you: What bait is needed when to land the big one.
Big Fish and You - Patch 2.3
Big Fish and You - Patch 2.4 (speculation (or is it? )

The actual fish data in these three threads is much less accurate (and sometimes outright wrong) than on ff14angler, but it DOES provide a concise summary of what fish are available where, and at least a ballpark estimate of what conditions are necessary for catching them. I use the forum threads for an at-a-glance summary of the fish, and then go to ff14angler to get the in-depth info on the fish I've chosen to target.

aye foragers set is expensive, but seems u not need it to catch the 106 fish needed for iron rod, but will need supra rod, max melds and FC buff, though only 2 fish u really need 393 gath, u will need the forager set to can hunt the 6 legendary fish.

Also overmelding fisher set not really a trouble if u can make ur own materias having at least 1star crafter for leather and weaver.

i have all crafters at 50 just no time to work towards the master craft books atm since theres other things im focusing on first :3 yeah i figured with the foragers rod it would push my gathering up to the later 300s and more or less let me catch alot of big fish, just perception is going to be my major probs atm i think.. since been tryin to boost it with over melds but horrible horrible luck if im failing this much on `1st overmeld dont wanna imagine what the last 1 will be like XD

unless im mistaken the foragers set gives a nicer perception boost then the fishers set right??

I think the hq gives a little more gathering and perception than the class gear. What I like about foragers are the three garunteed melds on each piece.
