In my personal opinion this needs to be corrected. An easy fix to do so, would be to make the item unatainable through DF with out first having a preformed party. This would solve the issue of people going after the item, and people trying to level crossing.
Or they could make it so you only get exp in a dungeon if you're in a preformed party, that would have the same effect.
