Poetic cap stay, Soldiery reward get increased. New tome will not come before 3.0
If they do it like last times, WoD weekly item lockout don't get removed before 3.0While I agree that the expansion will likely be there time when they give us a new tomestone, I do not think they will remove the weekly cap until 2.55 at the earliest. This is because 2.55 seems like the logical time for them to remove the loot lockout for WoD and with that giving players unlimited access to i120 gear. In doing that, it would not make sense for them to keep the cap on poetics. Which is why I think that then is the time they will remove it.

I am not saying they will or will not do anything. Just what seems to make sense. If the starting gear in the expansion is better than i120, then there is no reason to keep the loot lockout in WoD. If they remove the loot lockout prior to the expansion, then there is no reason to have 1 set of i120 gear with no restrictions, and 1 set of gear hidden behind a weekly cap.
But when we talk about 'starting gear' in the expansion, what would that be exactly? The job-specific AF2 stuff at lv60? I feel there's a big question mark about how powerful that is going to be. It might crap over even the strongest lv50 gear, but it might not. And when you talk about the raid/currency gear in the expansion, then you run into lockouts, so the old WoD would still be there to gear jobs while you wait for slow weekly progression on new locked content. If they do plan to make an unprecedented move and having you instantly get gear in expansion that blows out everything that came before it, then they can either do what you are suggesting and remove old lockouts early, or introduce new plans for that gear to make it still relevant, such as letting you desynth it into highly useful materials for crafting.
No one is going to run a level 50 raid to gear their level 60 job. That is simply not going to happen. I expect the staring gear for the expansion to be on par with poetics or slightly better. This is also why I think that the WoD loot lockout will be removed prior to the expansion. This would give all players the ability to get i120 gear for as many jobs as they would like in preparation for this.
When you refer poetic gear are you referring to pre upgrade or post upgrade?I expect the staring gear for the expansion to be on par with poetics or slightly better. This is also why I think that the WoD loot lockout will be removed prior to the expansion. This would give all players the ability to get i120 gear for as many jobs as they would like in preparation for this.
Also with WoD more then likely rewarding i120 gear and dropping the items needed to upgrade poetic gear to i130, I can't see them breaking the pattern they've been following since 2.0 came out.
There wont be a 2.6 but 3.0 will be a fresh even start, on even updates so far coils and CT raids switch to uncap and every other even patch new tome gear is introduced along with new crafted gear.

Pre upgrade. While I suspect that many people will farm the crap out of WoD and poetics if they are both removed from their perspective lockouts, I dont see many people getting multiple full sets of poetics gear and then farming up every upgrade token they would need to make the gear i130.
If WoD has its loot lockout removed prior to the expansion, which seems likely, Im betting that most people get the WoD gear for their alts and use the upgrade tokens for the first and second highest played jobs.
If poetics gear has its cap removed, the costs will likely remain the same which would deter some from gathering multiple full sets. But I am sure that some will try.
It seems more likely, at least to me that if this happens people will use the unlimited loot from WoD to gather gear and then use their poetics to buy the accessories for their jobs.
Also, I should note that I don't think that things like this would happen prior to patch 2.55. This way it would only give players a limited amount of time before the expansion comes out.

Like nobody do low level dungeons and FATEs to get a ilevel 125 weapon? ^^
If the reward is right, people would do old content
Then also nerf coil 11-13 to the ground during 2.5exept you are forgeting the main goal of Yoshida, make sure a maximum of people have done the content they have added soo far. people will not really come back to BC2-3 when Heavenward will be out, then the best way (without add echo) is to take out the lock out, since anyway, at best 1-2 month after the part 2 the expansion will be out.

Not really a good comparison. The relic upgrade quests reward players with a currently viable item. Running a raid that is 10 levels lower than the player does not provide that player with a suitable reward. You said it yourself. If the level 50 raids gave people level 60 gear then this would be different.
Also, the relic quest is an entirely different subject.
Oh god no please, I've been trying to level my GSM desynth on and off for weeks, and the only place to get the i90 stuff to desynth is in Coil T1-4, sure its fast but i spent like 20 runs the other day and won exactly 2 items.. gee a whole .45 skill up for 2 hours work.
