Please tell me this is not a bug.

Basically, Spell speed from equipment affects Whispering Dawn.

Seems pretty negligible to me, I still wouldn't equip SS over crit/det on SCH for that.

Don't pets get stuck with the stats you summon them in, more or less? Summon in SS then switch to Crit/Det, assuming you're not summoning in combat for some reason.

I've never heard that before but either way I would rather the pet get the crit/det as well. Unless that video is skewed somehow we're talking fractions of a second different with the SS.

The left and the middle effectively show the same thing, just that external SS buffs (from Selene) does nothing, which is something I'm already aware of after hoping MND Pots would infer Eos with high MND, but yeah, status effects do nothing for pet stats, simply gear. I'm also fairly certain it's the gear you summon them in as well, because back at launch I specifically remember all my gear breaking, but Eos still producing the same numbers on Embrace (thank god).

The actual difference between max SS and no SS is at least 5 seconds if I'm not mistaken, far more than a fraction of a second.

From what I've heard and understood, whenever you use Rouse it will reset this.

This was told to me following a suggestion I made about put on what accuracy gear (on SMN) to meet the pet accuracy requirements and then switch once summoned. And since you can't change gear during battle, this would be negated whenever you used Rouse or Spur.

Whether that's true or not, I'll leave to someone else to answer. I figured I'd just throw that out there.

You're right that the recast time is around 5 seconds faster but in my entire time playing sch, I have never had to cast whispering dawn immediately off cooldown. Generally I save it for situations where I need a lot of aoe healing so I really don't see this as very beneficial. Also, wouldn't having less det/crit effect the amount healed each tick? I just don't see how this would be beneficial in the long run because I would rather have a stronger situational whispering dawn than a weaker one with a slightly faster cooldown.

Just did some quick tests and this seems to be untrue.

    In gear: ~650 Embrace
    No gear: ~650 Embrace
    After Rouse: ~650 Embrace
Resummon with no gear: 370 Embrace.

By no means was this an in depth test, but the results seem conclusive enough. With no gear on Rouse didn't reset my pets stats, only resummoning did.

I thought SE went in and specifically prevented SpS on equipment from affecting pet cooldowns. This might be a bug if they did.

But I don't know why they don't want spell speed to affect pets. It's such an awesome stat. If crit affects pet then why not leave spellspeed there too? I'm pretty confused about it.
