I feel you OP. This quest line is Zombie Land ES style. After waiting what seems to be forever to run a Df, you then have to run a old boring dungeon. Now that I can light farm at the sme time, it might not be so bad. I hope

Saying Hi in DF is a bit unnecessary since the idea of DF is to do a Duty and leave, unless you see a bonus there really is no need to explain anything or have to see if people know what they do cause the idea behind the whole search function of the DF is to find a group, do it and leave.
But see, this isn't the fault of the player, it's the fault of the design, the act of communicating with players cross-server is lost because there is no way to stay in touch unless you make a char on that server for some reason but even then, there is no guarantee you will ever be grouped with them again.
The social aspect of DF could be improved with a cross-server friend list where players could meet, find players they enjoy playing with and have a way to play again but since this isn't possible, the idea of socializing for a short time with someone for less than 5 mins total if that just seems not worth the time when the odds of running a dungeon with them with the current design of DF is rather low.

To be honest, at least with the MMO's I've played. No, no its not. The sad truth is XIV dungeons are copy pasted offering little more then a change in scenery and different boss mechanics. They were built to be simple and fast and a quick in and out for most parties. Hence the over abundance of dungeons. FFXIV offers something between 40-50 dungeons, vs other MMO's that offer maybe 5-6. The major difference is those 5-6 take a great deal of team work and a lot of communication to pass. Cos of which in those MMO's even if a dungeon finder is offered the players won't use it because they require that communication to beat it. Instead sticking to preformed parties only. XIV differ's because they were meant to be easily and fastly cleared in DF by an average DF group. People know the dungeons take maybe 10 minutes to clear vs the 1 hour+ dungeon clears in other mmos. Get in, get your tokens, get out. Its sad but thats the way it was designed![]()

Maybe if dungeons presented a challenge people would actually talk. I remember 2.0 AK seemed so much more social. Now dungeons are mind less and more of a chore then a challenge. Nobody looks forward to their roulettes. As a ps4 player most of the time I don't even bother turning my keyboard on since there is no reason for it. Occasionally I get a social group and it's great, but the fun has been taken out of these dungeons. If there was a better way to get poetics I wouldn't even touch them.

It's like people forgot how to be polite, or never learned in the first place. ._. So what if you never see these guys again? Being a decent human makes the game a better place. I guess... impatience begets rudeness? ; ;

There is life out there. Ran my Adventurer in Need this morning before the reset. Got into Copperbell. Launched my customary greeting. Actually got responses from everyone. Now I know by now most people could run this dungeon blindfolded but the group actually chatted even while doing battle, quite a feat according to some of the replies. I managed to do it, on a PS4, holding a sleeping baby, texting, drinking a coffee, while browsing these forums. Who knew you could muti-task in game. Though our party was all Miqo'te as one person pointed pointed out, so must be a kitty thing.

I blame relic grind and the such.
Back in 2.0 we used to talk a lot etc in dungeons ( waiting for that replacement in AK because demon wall was too much of a wipefest. ) or cuz ppl didn't know how to wp speedrun etc.
Now most ppl just want a clean quick run to get their tomes/ rewards etc.
Socializing died as soon as they introduced i100 gear imo.

To be honest I agree with the people who are saying this game takes away from socializing. It really does, unless you have premade groups from your LS/FC then you are pretty much isolating yourself from everyone and trying to play an MMO as a single player game via DF. Sign up in DF solo, do your stuff, be done with it. You can grind pretty much every content this way. Want endgame loot but don't want to be bothered with statics? Just buy the win, plenty of sellers out there. It's almost like the game forces you to either play with a small group of friends or play solo. There's no real open world content to do as a group that has any benefit to it. But alas no need to worry.. you might not have to socialize with people anymore. Remember Yoshi P stated that you will be able to take NPC's from your GC into dungeons with you and "level them up". So now you won't even need to bother with DF groups.
Now I like the sound of Solo dfs and Npcs in my groups. Sad to say,playing at the A M hours of the day leaves me with very few other players to run stuff with and very slow Dfs times.To be honest I agree with the people who are saying this game takes away from socializing.
