Came across a pretty rude derpqo'te when I told the dps to target Guardia so we could burn him down so we could interrupt the Emperatriz. We wiped twice before we had this converstion



So posting this thread so players know to target Guardia until it's dead then target the Emperatriz to interrupt it and also as a reminder that a little humility goes a long way.

Most people know how to do this boss fight by now. It's just a select few being stupid.

The cactaur that covers the emperor dies so fast, why is this a problem? Also, can use LB to increase the dps needed to interrupt too. I've never had a problem from DPS on this boss, the first time I did it we cleared in one go too, I was a bit scared of it all cause I was trying to help dps with Holy but DPS should be competent enough for a healer to not need to dps at all on this fight.

Our dps was fine, the issue was the other 3 members were preformed and the healer was directing the dps to attack emp even when guard was up because i was the only one attacking guard until the 3rd try.

Ah yes, the old "we're a premade group so we're right and you're wrong no matter what" situation. It doesn't happen often, but it can be crippling when it does.

Anyway, this does sound like an exceptional case. I don't think I've ever actually seen the boss succeed in getting the needles attack off. Then again, I tend to go crazy with Stone II when that Guardia shows its face. I have a feeling this won't happen to you again for a while, if ever. Most groups have the sense to listen to reasonable advice in the event of a dungeon boss wipe.

I'm surprised there wasn't a mage LB put there for when the guardia pops out. It instantly kills the adds and allows you to burn her down without problems. Hell, even a melee LB will 1-shot the Guardia.

party setup was pld(me), drg,brd, and whm. i did ask the drg to lb the guard but he lb'd the first giant cactus by mistake ._.

Had a dragoon the other day who kept only targeting the boss and wouldn't listen. DPS really does attract the kind of faceroll players who are looking to skate by without a single braincell.

It's sort of funny when people still don't get how this boss works. After the first day everyone knew the strats for it. Not that the DPS matter that much anymore with more geared White Mages who can destroy the adds and the boss with Holy. If a White Mage and a decent Bard are in the party it goes down insanely fast. The easy way is to just gather the Guardia and boss together and then have a Black Mage LB everything left if you have one in the party though you shouldn't really need it.

Does it make matters worse the whm that was snapping at me without clear knowledge of the fight had 4020 tomes worth of poetic gear and they lead a FC that's check marked as a hardcore raid FC? But yeah this was a bit of a vent/informative thread I'll admit.
