Players beware!!

It has been brought to our attention in our server that the botters are now using a new tactic that also implicates a form of harassment and making some of the large free companies look badly amongst others in the server.

The botters are now copying the large free company names and adding an extra letter and using the same FC tags as them as well.

It has been reported and just wanted to bring the awareness to other FC's in different servers not to make assumptions unless checking closer.

On Behemoth there are dozens of lvl 50 blm/thm who are instantly popping in and out of dungeons almost every 1-2 minutes out of uldah and other city areas. They have armies of them.... just do a player search restrict it to lvl 50 blm and thm and do letter by letter a-z ... i would say 80% of them on our server are bots everyone knows it and hope to see it dealt with on this server as half the time people are very restricted on being able to create new chars here.

yeah apparently these botters will join a free company, chat and act like a real person the first day, then start botting the next. My FC went on a recruiting spree and we ended up with one on Balmung. Once it was identified the next day of being a bot, it was kicked from the FC and reported. So now it is getting hard to tell if people who do chat, are bots or not.

A "Bot" is a 3rd party program that you can load up and have it run your character when you arnt playing.

so just because they chat or dont chat, doesnt mean they dont Bot.

You want to look for those hours apon hours grinding in a zone, without ever leaving or stopping.

Many Hardcore raiders bot to avoid the grindy aspects of this game, since they only enjoy raiding.

EI: 72 Hours spent in the same zone, grinding the same mobs non-stop. then a 7 hour raid into FCoB. *hint-hint*

Or maybe several people play the same account in the same house on different work schedules.

As far as mimicking player names; that has been going on since day 1. But the mimicking FC names/Tags; that's new and definitely bad news for some of the bigger named FC's. :\
