Anyone Else Feel That They've Been Had by Heaventurn?

After completing it and seeing that it really had a negative connotation unlike other seasonal events which are meant to be positive and enjoyable, I didn't really feel a sense of achievement when I was done. I would rather have the Starlight Celebration extended for 2 more weeks instead.

Exactly, I felt very satisfied with this event and thoroughly enjoyed it (in fact, I liked it far more than last year's stupid horse one) - it was far more poignant than the previous Heavensturn which was just utter farce - the quest narratives were far more melancholy and subdued (particularly the one with the drunken Brass Blades captain, who as it turned out

was only drunk because he was recently widowed and thus was drinking to hide the grief of losing his wife.

Hence it was something definitely unexpected, a good thing, as I love when the writing team comes out of left field like this and delivers twists the player doesn't expect.


And that's not to say it was all gloom and doom, there were still pop culture references -

a paraphrased Star Wars quote, a parody of the infamous line Scooby Doo villains usually uttered when unmasked, and, a reference to Shakespeare (while also directly evoking this trope which bares it's name!)

So, to everyone on the quest/writing/translation teams, thanks for a very unexpected but highly enjoyable event!

I did go oh darn when I got to the npc I think you're referring to. It was a rather unpleasant twist for a holiday event.

I definitely felt like the writing for the event was good. The Heavensturn hats had jiggle effects to them, which was glorious, yet subtle, the dialog was entertaining, and I just felt that it was a very nice overall event that wasn't artificially inflated with dailies.

Though personally, I am looking forward to Heavensturn 2016. Monkey Kabutos for everyone~!

I was hoping that the titles from the last heavensturn would be available for this one, was pretty disappointed that they aren't.
