I sure hope the GM gives a permanent ban to this person. A warning or a temporary ban isn't enough for this kind of harassment. This isn't something to laugh about and to all those going lol shame on you this is supposed to be a safe environment well some what to have fun.
The fact that this is going on out of the game is disgusting the GM are supposed to protect agents this kind of thing . I'm sure since its continuing off line there's something that can be done. How'd this even start.
From what I have read about the TOS agreement with SE, harassing another player is an offense warranting a permanent ban. This goes for in game and any other medium they control (i.e. the forums). So yeah, if this has been reported and they know who the player is (and they will know and easily find out, nothing is hidden these days) the player [perpetrator] will likely be banned permanently.

Originally started around christmas when a joke was told and he started attacking me (began in the fb group for our server) Then the next time I logged in he kept saying "Get this fat heffer away from me" It escalated and I probably shouldn't have called him a "flamer" but I did. He tried to say that my boyfriend is imaginary and that he likes to cheat on me with skinny crack head chicks. This was all said In game btw. But since that night I have had him blisted and still attacks me when I had moved on from the situation and drama. I'm surprised a GM or Dev hasn't responded to this post yet actually. He keeps shouting these things in Mor Dhona for everyone to see except for the ppl that have him blisted of course but it's obvious by peoples responses.

I didn't link anything. We wanted to come together as a server to get to know each regardless of FC, GC, and Linkshells. I really love my server. They know that I am always helping ppl when I can. Changing my name and what my char looks like will not resolve anything. :/
Wow, I've heard this line before too many times. No one is to be blamed for being a victim. You are right that you should be careful with your personal information, but a victim, even when they do something that might put them in danger, is still a victim. An upstanding member of society wouldn't take advantage of having access to knowledge, just as I don't take advantage of the thousands of social security card numbers, driver's licenses, and criminal histories that I handle.
The fact is, the GMs aren't responsible for what happens outside of their game and any system out of their control. Facebook is not under the control of SE, and thus Facebook is generally contacted by police departments like the one I work for (generally by a sergeant investigator with a warrant for information) to handle things like this. So yeah, the GMs aren't going to have any power to protect her when this has already progressed to other forms and avenues of cyber stalking and harassment. That's where we (police departments) come in.This isn't something to laugh about and to all those going lol shame on you this is supposed to be a safe environment well some what to have fun.

Yes...blame the person being picked on.
While I agree that blending in-game internet strangers you play a MMO with your personal FB account isn't exactly a choice I'd personally make, she's not the one harassing anyone. And many, many people who play this game, meet in real life, on purpose to have dinner, go to conventions etc. and have lasting friendships/relationships...heck some even get MARRIED...to someone they met in an MMO. So it's not maybe a decision I'd make...but I hear way more about 'we met playing FFXI' than 'yo, I have a stalker from FFXI'
We live in a digital age. It's part of life. And actually, in some respects, we're safer/more protected because of it. Even in this case...most of what this player is doing to harass her? There's written documentation where she could take it to a cop/judge etc and SHOW them. He said this on FB/in game. Time/date/place everything stamped there for all to see. Heck, there's even witnesses. Everything this jerk does to screw with her is basically documented and can be presented as evidence if needed (because printed words don't disappear people). 20+ years ago, proving someone was harassing you was actually far harder.
Damnnnnn didn't know thatNo amount of fantasia or name changes can help with this issue. You can change your name, but your ID remains the same. You can follow a Lodestone link of a previous search of a person and it'll update you with the new name and server (If it applies). You can also google someone by their old name and it'll give you links to the new lodestone profile name.
But u seem to know awfully a lot about how to stalk someone * shifts eye *
Jk lol
Then just just df/ go do instances so they can't see you and you can't see their spam lol
I had this kinda happen to me before and i got stalked on the forums and in game by a few ppl on my server.
Things got heated and we ended up getting forum banned for a while.
But all in all i learned just let them talk and they'll eventually die down cuz ain't no one got time to do tht 24/7 11 months a year.
You are about to discover a truth you may not like. >
No but in all seriousness, I found out after I followed my own link after I changed server and name and it sent me to my new profile.

I try to avoid him like the plague but he always finds a way around. Tonight I was told he threaten to shoot one of my friends in our LinkShell. (Btw he was removed from that as well) Almost everyone on the Malboro server knows who I am referring to and will most likely tell you a story of his rude and crudeness. I believe the GM's will take action now but like I said I'm surprised they haven't said anything on here yet.
