Is this true everyone? Should I not use my stun ability at all? I mean I was just using it on trash mobs, no idea why he freaked out on me so bad. The leg sweep ability gives some DPS so I figured it was best to use whenever it's up.
Its only an issue in fights where a stun is used to interrupt important attacks, such as ifrit hard.

Contrary to popular belief, despite it being a measly 130 potency, Leg Sweep is the second highest PPS oGDC skill Dragoons have. If someone tells you not to use legsweep for any reason other than "mechanics", kindly show them the middle finger and keep sweeping their legs!

Over reacting, I started levelling my dragoon and the pally started complaining (same dungeon) after 3rd boss, and i quote "Oh Goddammit, another one of those stun happy dragoons". The thing is i stunned only AoE's. Some tanks just look for something to complain about.

EDIT: I am not close to being a "pro dragoon"

unless you are in a fight where you should not use stun freely/saving for a certain skill, then it's fine to use it as soon as it comes off gcd.

Contrary to a Warrior or a Dragoon, the Paladin's stun skill is NOT off the global cooldown, and is a waste of TP, DPS, AGGRO.
    It's a DPS increase for a Dragoon.

The only reason you would not use your stun would be on some reallllyyyyy rare bosses or some trash mobs and only if you're assigned to stun their ability (like, for Sastasha's first boss, since the tank gets a wonderful 5 seconds stun during the boss' cast time)

That paladin was a retard, end of story.

The only time a Dragoon should be reluctant to stun is when the point of stun is to interupt a mechanic that would otherwise hurt the party or make things less smooth. And even then, it's not necessarily wrong to stun. In later levels there are alot of dungeons that stunning becomes important, usually it involves one mob summoning a demon, so you'd stun to keep from having an additional mob to deal with. Others, your stunning a mechanic that'll do big damage, or maybe a paralyze spell.

In any case... pre-50, stun is irrelevant. Have a blast.

Edit : I take it back, somewhat... Stuns in Haukke Manor normal are pretty useful with the second boss Skeleton, but.. again.. not a big deal.

Tanks generally can't stun both the first Ice Spikes and the first Life Drain since they come really soon after one another. If you want to stun both, you should work with your DPS to do this. Ice Spikes, in general are hard to stun but rather nice to stun.

I've leveled every class to 50 that can dutyfinder, and never heard anyone even remotely concern themselves with Ice Spikes. As tank I just combo one, combo the other, wait for stun, repeat. And then hope the DPS can finish them before Skeleton starts resisting.

Definitely ignore him. Your stun is part of your DPS rotation. The only time you don't use it is on bosses that are required to be stunned at a certain point.
