I really feel like SE needs to let go of the reins on this one and give the people what they want. Arguing that this keeps content relevant is quite a big cop-out. I'm sure anyone working on any number of relic steps will tell you that they are running old dungeons ad nauseum already. If we want to collect poetics in any reasonable amount of time, "Hey, you better go run 15 dungeons a week. What's that you say? You don't want to wait 1/2 hour for a queue? You'd better run them as a tank or healer." Honestly, stop using everything as an excuse to shove dungeons/trials down our throats. We have to do enough of them without being forced to re-run them to replace a fountain we've made/bought 3 times already. It's a simple request. We made it already, we bought it already. It's ours. Let us keep it.

Adding to the chorus of voices on this one. There is no reason to punish us for wanting to redecorate or move. I love housing, I love a lot of what SE does with XIV; this particular issue is one of the poorer decisions. Please make them removable?

Yet another mystery in the whacky design world that is SE. Whoever thought that having items be destroyed upon pick-up once placed was a good idea needs a very stern talking-to.

This is ridiculous. "Preserve the rarity" - good lord, it's a housing item. Your housing system is restrictive enough; the least you can do is let people play around in it as they please.

Need to reverse this decisions with the new reclamation system. The items are already bound but it's a slap in the face to destroy them out right considering those are the most expanse items in the game.

I'm typing this with the sincere hope that a representative from SE will read and consider what I'm about to say. I understand the original premise behind the idea of the furnishings being destroyed, as it will help keep the market more active for those items. However, I feel that at this point in time, we have reached a period where that decision is harming the community, and that the rare end game furnishings and items necessary to craft them have become too scarce to allow this design to persist without intervention.

The issue we now face with these items is more than the content being old and outdated, it's that the accessibility of the duties themselves has become limited. The addition of the undersized parties option to the duty finder was an enlightened decision that has given many players the ability to do old content with enjoyment, to gain glamour items, completion, or simply have fun. However, while furnishings requiring EX primals are obtainable for any group that goes into the old content, simply finding another seven people who want to do the old fights without being level synced is a challenge in of itself. But since those necessary items won't drop with the undersize party option, the majority of players are finishing their farming the easy way for ponies or glamours, while those few who are seeking the furnishings are left with little hope of ever getting the necessary items.

Then you have the furnishings requiring 24 person raids, which have always been rare, and as they have a 24 person requirement to even enter, the ability to easily access the duty for even a chance at the drop is increasingly difficult. This content is on the verge of being dead, and every item that you can get from it is going to become irreplaceable. Then compound that fact with the loss of the furnishings if they're removed or if the plot they're associated to gets reclaimed, it becomes reasonable to predict that these decorations may eventually vanish from the servers entirely.

Please, I kindly request that the development team looks into a solution for the problems that this sort of furnishing currently faces. I'm sure that there is a solution out there to fix either end of the dilemma that home owners currently face in game, and your subscribers would be grateful.

In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

And please don't forget the walls/floor/lighting/outside stuff...

One of these items Neira is talking about is the ADS Illuminant which makes the Illumination Module. I have cleared BCOB more times than I can count trying to get my full tank set and not once have I seen this Illuminant drop. I just happened to catch the market at the right time to buy one of these to make the light but they rightfully have sky rocked because no one does Coil anymore. Anyways I placed my shiny new light in my personal house but have since taken over a lot of roles in my FC including decorator. I would really like to put the ADS light in my FC house but we all know how that goes.

Following this line of thinking... would SE and the devs really think it is ok that the new house skins, which take hundreds of materials to make, be destroyed just to switch up for a new look? Well i guess the "make it more rare" because no one is ever gonna spend the time and money to make it again is... kinda correct?

You would hate my retainer who brought me an illuminant via a random quick venture.
