Can I transfer gil between my own characters? The reason I ask is, I'm trying out all the classes to see which I like best, and I have been accumulating gil with all of my toons.

I notice when try to submit mail, a message pops up saying that in order to send mail, the person needs to be on my friends list.

Well, I tried to add my own characters to my friends list and the system won't let me do that.

Does this mean, I cannot send gil between my own toons? When I delete a toon I don't want to throw away my money!

They each have their own moogle mail box so I don't see why you can't add yourself and send gil......correct me if Im wrong

the problem is both characters have to be logged in to be friended. SE made alts unwise.... so more people will do all the classes/crafting/gathering on one character. Find someone you trust to help you out, or get if the FC allows to donate and withdraw gil do it that way.

Get a friend you trust, mail them the Gil, then have them mail it back. I would make sure to ask them ahead of time, so they don't think you're just giving them a generous gift.

Just making sure you are aware that once you reach lvl 10 (or is it level 10 story quest, it's one or the other), you can try all the other classes on just one character by going to that class's guild.

Yeah, I realize that I can "do it all" on one race/toon. . .but being that I am an altaholic, that is difficult for me. I want to try all races with different class combos. I appreciate the heads up on the mailing system. I will mail the gil to someone I know in game. Thanks again.

The game is not very altaholic-friendly IMO. So i would suggest you try to level only one of your toons first to see how it going I want to making alts for quite a long time but thinking of all the work just make it never happen xD

You'd have to have one of your friends send it to you you can't send it too your self on ones under the same account.

You do realised that the only reason you'd need different characters is if you wanted to see the starting story from each of the three different city-states (or if you weren't sure on which race you wanted to play as)? Once you hit level 10, you can unlock the other classes by visiting their respective guilds, and then equipping a weapon that belongs to that class.

One way around it, put a crystal up for sale for the amount you want to transfer, i.e. 200,000 by the alt you want the money on, then buy it with your main character. Sure you'd have to pay the MB tax, but it cuts out any middle man that might be willing to rob you.
