SE got the rings' action backwards. Your ring should allow your spouse to teleport to you when they want, not allow you to teleport to your spouse when you want. Then whichever spouse wants a divorce can have one by discarding the ring that would allow their (now former) spouse to reach them. Even if their ex refuses to divorce them in turn, the ex still wouldn't be able to use it to harass them, because the ex's ring is irrelevant to porting in that direction.

Take it further, the super hardcores will simply pay people to use the teleport ring to teleport them to someone to teleport to the S rank. I think we should ban real life currency in real life, it might be exploited in FFXIV. The devs need to consider banning computers too as they can be used to exploit FFXIV by logging in and paying someone to teleport to someone to teleport to an S rank which teleported to the teleporter.

Perhaps we should just have the devs ban thought and life in all forms, they might come up with a way to exploit something wholely irrelevant.

Sorry, but what I mean in an easier to understand way, is that people will always find exploits in something, Its an inevitability, no matter how hard you QA something or how much you plan for it, someone will find a way around it. But what you claim isn't really an exploit, for many reasons. Not the least of which FFXIV is a game that has a telepoint within like, 2 minutes of anywhere you need to be, further, for your plan to work they would all have to marry the same guy for the ring to work that way, so they could all warp to the same guy, or create a marriage chain where one marries another who marries the other etc etc. both stupid, both impractical when you can just warp to any of the Tele-crystals and walk there within 2 minutes time. Plus, it would require that person whos in the marriage link to always be online camping S ranks and being there exactly when they pop, which will never happen. Its just all one in a million chances...

Theres no exploit here because there are far simpler ways to get to an S rank than chain-marriage and hoping the one you're all chained too is in the right spot when it pops.

As for the ability to teleport to a player you were once eternally bonded to, simply adding them to your blacklist will disable the teleport feature.

...isn't a blacklist the equivalent of a restraining order? And sure, a restraining order doesn't actually prevent someone from stalking/harassing you (just the same as blacklisted stalkers can find ways to get around a blacklist and continue stalking you), but it does make it more difficult for them.

OP never said HE had a problem, he just saw the potential flaw (and abuse) and ask for a solution...
English is not my first language, but sometimes I feel like I understand it better than some people for whom it's their first language...

To OP : some people said there is a NPC (near the chappel ?) to do an actual divorse so I think it answer the whole thread.
But if there isn't, they should add one and if a stalker do appear, it still could be dealt with a report for harassement.
