[Help] I got PS3 License but wanted to upgrade to PS4 License

Hi All,

Sorry for the trouble. I need help about this and i've read a lot of articles about this and I still haven't found a solution.

I recently purchased a PS3 License for it to be upgraded to PS4 license.. the problem is that I do not have a PS3 console but have a PS4 console.

I don't know in playstation network if PS4 and PS3 are same but when I tried to put in my PS3 Code on the PS4 Redeem codes it didn't work.

Now im trying to find a way on how to login to PS3 Network to register my game online w/o a PS3.

Error : "The Prepaid Card code you entered is incorrect or is no longer valid"
currently in : Singapore
Licensed used : UK

and If ever there is no choice I may have to buy a PS3 next month. my only concern is that if the Licenses code didn't work by that time i wont be able to request for a refund on my license.

You will need a ps3 for the registration process. You don't need to buy a ps3. If you have a family member or friend with a ps3 you can use their ps3 to log into your account then just pop the disc in or redeem the digital code through psn on the ps3 to download the game, once the game installs you need to go though the registration process on the ps3 to apply it to your account then you can delete the game and log off (this is what I did). Then go to the mog station to upgrade to ps4, it will give you a ps4 psn redeem code and once you apply it you can download the game onto the ps4.

apparently what the PSN support said I have to use a different account which is a UK account... the reason why the codes didn't work is that because I am in an SG region and not UK...

I was advised to register a new UK account so I did register it on a PSN account on a 2nd e-mail ... -.-"

after redeeming the codes I remember about the e-mail account links from Square Enix.

is it still possible that I can get a PS3 unit, pop the disc in and download the game using that 2nd e-mail address account, and once the game installs ill go to the registration process but use my original account for Square Enix with the Gmail to apply it on my Gmail account and follow the process? (mog station to Ps4 --> Ps4 Redeem codes etc.)

my other concern after that is that if the redeem code doesn't work on my PS4. (i heard PS4 now doesn't have any region locks right?)

I'm so worried right now that I just made big mistake.

maybe, not sure though as I did it all through NA region, when I did it. I thought I could save a few dollars getting the ps3 version instead if the ps4 and just enter the code on the mogstation or psn and then do the upgrade to the ps4 version. If I had known I needed a ps3 I would have saved myself the headache and just purchased the ps4 version.

looks like a good friend wanted me to borrow her PS3. which im going to be able to get tomorrow. (SG TIME)

Hi All,

As per updates I was able to register my License from PS3 to my account and also upgrade it to PS4 license. I just followed the Steps given by Dark_Legacy above and it seems that it works fine.

Special Case :

Since I have 2 e-mails from PSN, what I do on my Playstation 4 is that I logged in using the EU account and set my PS4 as a Main PS4 so that all games can be played there... when I logged into the game I still use my Square Enix username and everything seems to be working smoothly.

The good thing about it is that I was able to get the games for 2 Countries which is an advantage and also good because sometimes they offer discounts which are actually great.

Anyways hope this thread is clear.
