But what I am suggesting is to disable the firewall altogether and see if that helps. This was my exact issue.

I had set it to unblock ffxiv, but it still wouldn't connect. I tinkered around a bit, and eventually got it to work, but then i kept getting 2002 error....until I disabled the firewall altogether - that worked for me.
