    Limit breaks.

We're talking about differentiating classes here, so lets do that.

WAR= Party wide Bloodbath, Berserk, and a 25% max hp increase. Warrior gains 10 second pacification after it wears off, nobody else gets the negative berserk effect.
PLD= The current Tank limit break
WHM= The current healer limit break
SCH= Everyone in the party gains a shield equal to their max health
NIN= Slightly lower damage than the current DPS LB, but PACIFIES ANY TARGET INCLUDING BOSSES.
BRD= Fills up the parties tp and mp, makes all of their skills free for the next 5 seconds, Halves all cooldowns.
    DRG= Current DPS limit break
MNK= a DoT that ticks continually based on the damage the party inflicts while it is applied.
    BLM= Current Magic damage LB
SMN= A big disgusting explosive DoT effect that hurts like mad, and when an enemy dies it explodes again, reapplying the DoT to things around it.

    Ideas?

I think the PLD LB3 should be invincible for the 12 seconds not 50% dmg decrease... i mean seriously when does a PLD EVER get to use the LB3? Lets play it out... if is not dps, the next to use it in a dire situation (because no one would use the pld lb3 in normal situations) would be the whm to raise anyone who has fallen. After that, and everyone is dead except you, 50% dmg reduction might get you one extra hit from the boss which is crap... i have popped LB3 enough times to say confidently that half of the mobs moves will either completely ignore it or it might grant you 1-2+ hits. Even though 12 seconds is not a long time, and PLDs dps output is nothing to tremble at, it is possible to be the last guy standing and squeak out that last 1% to wrap up what would be a truly epic fight.

If you ever been on a dungeon trial run where both healers went splat, you'd appreciate the BRD's having the healer LB then. I've seen it in CT, ST, and several EX Primals...

Here's my take on the OP suggestions:

WAR= Party wide 25% HP increase with a 10% damage increase for 15-20 seconds
PLD= 75% damage reduction for 15-20 seconds and resist Knockback and negative status effects
WHM= The current healer limit break w/ protect and stoneskin II
SCH= Should be based on which ever fairy they have out. If EOS: Same LB now but add a succor to each player. If Selene: Same LB, with Protect and skill/spell speed buff for 30 sec
NIN= A ninjitsu attack (mirage of Ninja surrounding the target and a cylinder shaped explosion erupting with an added blind debuff)
BRD= A multi-hit rain off arrows, Aoe based with a bleed at the end
DRG= I'd like them to get Odin's boss summon from ff7 (Toss Spear in the sky and a huge lance impales the target) Also add more damage to dragon/dragon-like enemies.
MNK= Multi-hitting combo, similar to Zell/Tifa, (Think current Melee LB lvl 2, but a more physical "kicks & punches" version)
BLM= Current Mage damage LB, but needs a small increase in damage buff, (Better yet allow Astral fire damage buff to apply here...)
SMN= the active Egi Turns to the more original design of the primal, not as big, but i think you get the picture, and performs their ultimate or a more compliant version of it

I like the idea of DRG having a spear based LB as well. Something like Odin's zantetsuken that throws multiple charged spears on the ground and they explode and do some great AOE damage.

I get the idea of SMN LB. Its 3 bar LB should summon Zodiac primal and do its enkindle skill (AOE). Why Zodiac? because currently he is the most powerful primal in FF universe or dev can implement multiple LB based on egi's that you summon. Its 3 bar LB do ultimate version of your summon enkindle. Its probably be like this:

    1) One LB bar - Pet use its ultimate signature attack like Ifrit fire breath or Garuda slipstream or Titan Rock smash
    2) Two LB bar - Pet use its second ultimate signature attack like Ifrit dash or Garuda plum or Titan Jump and smash (I forgot the skill name)
    3) Three LB bar - Pet use its ultimate enkindle attack like Ifrit Inferno, Garuda Tornado and Titan Fury but in its true primal form

    or

    1) One LB bar - Summon Zodiac and use its 1st ultimate signature attack (AOE)
    2) Two LB bar - Summon Zodiac and use its 2nd ultimate signature attack (AOE)
    3) Three LB bar - Summon Zodiac and use its enkindle attack (AOE)

option 2 also can use Bahamut instead of Zordiark

My idea is that all classes of the same role gets the same level 1 and 2 limit break. (This also means bards should also get the same AOE LB that BLM and SMN have at levels 1 and 2) Level 3 LBs should really be specialized more.

Warrior: Blood Rain: I like the bloodbath effect for the whole party, but it's level 3, so it should be 100% of damage done back as healing, +20% damage on party members, and lase 20 seconds. Also, damage done to the boss should cause a stacking weak DOT that falls off fast and causes pulsing healing to all targets who inflict the DOT.

Paladin: Sacred Ground: 15 second Hallowed Ground on all party members with a HOT based on % of HP pool 5% every 3 seconds.

White Mage: Ultima's Blessing: AOE Full Raise+Full Heal, No raise sickness, Protect+Shell, Esuna MAX (Remove all debuffs from party that can be removed with Esuna), and Apply Regen to all party members.

Scholar: Oberon's Plight: AOE Full Raise+Full Heal, No raise sickness Leeches Max (Same as Esuna Max), Succor=healing done by the skill (If raised, equal to full HP pool).

Summoner: Grand Summon: Call upon the source of your current Primal-egi to wreck destruction on enemies... Call either Titan, Garuda, or Ifrit (The trial fight versions) to the field, and they do the weakened forms of Earthen Fury, Aerial Blast, and Inferno to all enemies in a 20y Radius augmented by the party's collective Magic Damage and Intelligence.

Black Mage: Meteor: Pretty much the current Level 3 AOE LB.

Bard: Volley: Channeled LB (Since all the LBs seem to make you stand in place anyways) where you drop thousands of arrows on the target location. Enemies are damaged heavily each tick (1 second ticks and damage based on current alive party members dexterity), allies recover 10% of MP, HP, and TP each tick (1 second tick). Lasts 5 seconds.

Monk: Enter the Dragon: Disappear and transform into an (Eastern) earth dragon, diving through the enemy and into the earth, doing massive damage twice to one target, first when diving through, then again when the earth under the enemy blows up underneath them, reappearing as your character.

Dragoon: Sky Dive: Jump into the air, and bring down the Dragon's Spear (a spear made from the spine and skull of a dead dragon), causing massive damage.

Ninja: Omni Slash: Vanish and attack from the shadows, inflicting increasing damage with each strike (+100% potency per strike for 7 attacks Base potency of 100 with a factor based on party strength) 1st attack happens when the button is pressed, and another attack every .5 seconds for 3 seconds.

Personally, I think that the dragoon's LB3 should do something spear related, maybe a super-jump or something. And leave Final Heaven for Monk.

Because, lets be honest here, seeing a Monk chain a bunch of skills and then finish the combo with Final Heaven is one of the coolest things ever, next to using Meteor as a Black Mage. Which is, by the way, seriously amazing.

The devs have made it abundantly clear that they will not give jobs unique limit break effects. If they did you would have a situation where specific jobs are taken just for their limit break in certain fights. They have said that 3.0 will feature unique animations for each job, however. So a SMN and a BLM will have a mechanically identical LB but the SMN one will likely summon something to do the AOE damage instead of dropping a meteor.

One exception I see is BRD though. With the introduction of machinist we should see a proper ranged physical LB introduced which bards could potentially share. I don't really see machinist getting thrown into the healing AOE LB pool and they can't use any of the others that we currently have as they aren't tanks, melee or magic based.
